Although we loved cruising, the number of people not wearing masks in congested areas like the elevators and shows gives me angst. Please take personal responsibility, follow the posted signs and consider those around you.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Despite delayed boarding because of reported rescue of stranded mariners causing a late arrival of the ship, embarkation process was relatively smooth especially considering a lot more people arriving at the same time.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Service and food was very good in the mdr There was a formal night on the first sea day. Prime rib but no lobster. Also no stuffed mushrooms, escargot or pies at any of the meals. Did not go to the specialty restaurants but Guys burgers remained good as was the blue iguana cantina.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Explored the fitness center which was well equipped but with few patrons. Lido deck and spas were very popular.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The performers at the stage shows were very good. One show about Motor City music was great. Personally, the show called Flicks did not appeal to me (too artsy) although the performers did a great job. Musicians were good but would not see them as America Got Talent finalists
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All around great service from everyone.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Staff worked non stop keeping everything clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Guaranteed balcony was located above the piano bar and next to spa. Unless you plan on not getting back to your room before 1:00 am or like the music in your room until then, I would suggest a different cabin. Cabin itself was in good condition, well maintained and comfortable.
Ship tip
If you can, preference would be for cruises longer than four days.
Mr. Sanchos continues to be the preferred all inclusive beach with a variety of food and drink options at a good price. Love their shrimp choices especially.
billintexas, thanks for the review. It's perfectly appropriate to point out that some people are not following the rules. That let's others know what to expect. I personally am not worried about others not masking but for many that's important to know. I feel that since I agreed to following the rules when I purchased my ticket that I would be a jerk to not do it, even if I don't agree. Otherwise, I would just stay home.
Thank you for sharing!! After my first cruise in a cabin very close to a forward anchor and another cruise in a cabin below the galley...i've been super conscious of where I book! Glad you enjoyed overall!!
Hopefully there weren't too many people not following the mask protocol. There's always a few on every cruise. Glad you still managed to enjoy your cruise.
Sorry you didn’t have lobster or other expected foods. To avoid a cabin above a music venue, you need to pick it yourself rather than guaranteed. Sorry this cruise didn’t meet your expectations.
