This is the second time I've sailed out of Galveston. The last time was Feb/March 2020, right before covid. And I loved the Galveston port then. It was easy on/easy off then as well, but they managed to improve on that!
Just be careful where you stay in Galveston. I stayed at the County Inn and suites and left very unhappy with them. Who ever runs that place has passed a "don't give a s&&" attitude down to their staff. Because they do not give a shit.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was excellent. I had issues with the shuttle from my hotel, the hotels fault, not the cruise lines fault, and ended up showing up past my arrival time. I got put into "the long line." It didn't matter though. 15 mins after I got there, I was having lunch at the Mongolian Wok. They have made check-in so simple. Just make sure you have all your required paperwork ready to go and it's zip boom bang, done. Oh, and they upgraded my room. She handed me a new boarding pass, and I didn't think anything of it. It didn't hit me until I opened my door and discovered I'd been moved from an upper/lower porthole to an ocean view. Surprise!! Gotta love it!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
I love the Mongolian Wok. I had lunch there twice on a 5 day cruise lol! I did my Guy's burger and had a taco salad too. I didn't do any specialty restaurants, but I did eat in the dining room every night. The food was awesome. I have no complaints.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
I did more on this cruise than I've ever done before! I hit almost every show, all the dance lessons, the comics were so good, I saw them both several times ... It was truly an exceptional cruise.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
I got a chance to meet one of the entertainment singer/dancers. So personable! It was so nice that the ship wasn't at full capacity and I was able to have a conversation with him.

Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff was so happy to be back. They were outstanding. I just can't say enough good things about them.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
I love the Breeze! It's one of my favorite Carnival ships. Along side the Dream. The ship was spotless. And if staff saw a spot, they were immediately cleaning said spot. They were spectacular.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The room was very comfortable and I loved the ocean view window. I sat in it and watched the water go by a lot. Was cool to see that low down. The room was spottless and Putu kept it that way for me. The only weird thing, is the bathtub. I tried it out, just because I'd never had a bathtub on a cruise before, but the size of this tub was awkward. You could fill it deep but you couldn't stretch out.
I love staying in Galveston. There is a lot of beach for your pre-cruise beach needs. There is also a Walmart for anything you forgot.to bring. I always seem to find nice little hole in the wall bbq places. Because when in Galveston, bbq always sounds good.
I always love Cozumel. It's a safe port with a lot of nice shopping. Just make sure your bartering and saying no skills are intact. It's Mexico and they can get a little aggressive with their sales pitches ...
Progresso has a very small port. A lot of people would say "don't bother" but I don't think it's that bad. There are a few little shops right after you get off the ship. Go look. They have some cool stuff ... and while they have a small selection, it's cheaper than Cozumel.
The doc is ... like 8 miles long or something, so you can't walk into Progresso. I heard you can get a shuttle or a cab or something, but Progresso didn't look walkable from what I saw. I took an excursion to Merida, which, also not much to look at, but they have a very rich history and the rum is awesome!!
This was the fastest I'd ever gotten off a ship. With the facial recognition, you smile for the camera and out you go ... They made it really, really simple. The luggage system was easy too. It was just a nice trip.
