Review summary

First cruise back since covid! Man was it great to be sailing again. Felt very good knowing everyone was vaccinated and tested prior to embarkation. Cruise again in 9 days on the Magic!

I've always enjoyed Carnival's selection of free options. Post pandemic did not disappoint. First time trying Bonsai Sushi and worth the extra charge! They also expanded food delivery options. Can have a variety of foods delivered to your location on the ship for a small fee!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5

Typical cruise activities, though I have to say, the cruise director, Cookie, didn't seem to be as involved as other CDs on past cruises.

Entertainment

Live band was awesome, DJ Billy rocked the club, piano bar was just okay. The solo guitarist wasn't good but the violin trio made up for that and were great!

Service and Staff

Room steward was Dana. He was the friendliest I've ever had! Super great! Dining room staff was great also! Crew was upbeat, positive and happy to be sailing again!

Ship Quality

Love this class of ship due to the lanai on deck 5. Lots of hot tubs! Just be aware you can't cross ship on deck 3 due to dining rooms.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cruising is what you make it! Be involved, meet new people and make it a great vacation!

Galveston, Texas

First time sailing out of Galveston and will likely be the last. I didn't like the fact that the drink package doesn't kick in until day two. This makes day one very expensive to drink alcohol. Also the cost to get to the port from the airport is too high. I knew these things when I booked but chose to do it anyways because I had flight credits to cover cost of flying.

I loved knowing that so many people were vaccinated. It's the most people I've been around since the pandemic started.

MsLFMcKinley it was the 4 day that left on Thursday. I did my test on Tuesday and did the at Binax Now at home telehealth antigen test. We saw someone show up with a test they took on Monday and they were not allowed to board the ship. Don't take it early.
