Review summary

We had a great time! This was my 19th cruise on Carnival and it did not disappoint. Leaving from Port Canaveral was very convenient. All staff were friendly. Food was good - ate A LOT. Might stick with a newer ship next year, but that’s just my personal preference.

Embarkation

Getting on board was an absolute “Breeze!” We are Platinum. We arrived to the pier at 10:45 and we were on the ship by about 11am. Super-easy and super-friendly staff.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We ate in MDR, Steakhouse, & Cucina del Capitano. Food was very good. This was my 19th cruise on Carnival and I would actually say that the food was better than in previous years. There were some new additions to the menus, also.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There was no shortage of activities for the four teens in our traveling party. We enjoyed the daily trivia a lot.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Loved the music in Ocean Plaza. Piano Bar...not so much. The Cruise Director, MarQ, was outstanding. He exceeded expectations and made the trip so much fun. Typically, I don’t pay too much attention to the CD one way or another, but MarQ gave it 100% all week long!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was clean; however, I would concur with several other reviews that indicated that things felt a bit “worn” on the ship. Carpets need to be re-done and there was a set of doors onto Deck 5 from the Ocean Plaza that were out of service all week.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
First time in an Ocean Suite. With four of us - including two teen boys, this was a GREAT option! The balcony was also very large.

Ship tip

If you like an omelette for breakfast, take the back elevators to Lido and the first station you come to features Jen - she was so friendly and accommodating all week! Also, definitely try Cucina del Capitano at least one night. Worth it, for sure!

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
We were off of the ship by choice by 8:15am. It was crowded, but we managed. TIP - if you are carrying your own luggage, take middle or back elevators to deck FOUR and get in line. You’ll need to carry luggage down one floor, but this is the smoothest option.
