Review summary

Overall the cruise is not impressed. A security personnel was so rude and seems he was not happy to be there at work. (Maybe isolate case to show power) Steward is kind of lazy or not understands the common sense that passengers with young kids need. Dinning managers or hosted were not very friendly. Except the wait staff and photographers, it seems nobody wants to work in this ship.

Embarkation

The embarkation was okay. I think the process to have the ship cards at the cabin is very good idea and save a lot of time for both parties. First time I had a bad experience with cruise security during embarkation. He was at line 6 and we went through his line around 1pm on August 13th. I have 3 kids and a lot of kids stuff on my stroller. After scan through including the stroller on the scan (?), he was so rude to rush me to take all my stuff out of the scanning line and yelled at me to go somewhere to the last table. I was about to organize the stuff and waited for my kids (5 and 8 years old) came over to help me. He yelled again from across the hall: “go to the table at the end.” After these 2 nice gentlemen checked the 12 pack soda can, he yelled very loud, he had the wine bottle. I am tired so I said go ahead and check all the kid’s bags if you like. I do not drink anyway. These 2 security just smiled at me and told me go ahead. I was on vacation. Does he has to be that rude and demonstrated his power? It is a shame that Carnival employed this type of personality.

Food is good except the dining room management is completely chaos in the first day. It seems many makeshift tables were created due to organizing. Prior to the trip, I requested to set my party in the same table (2 staterooms). Carnival did not set this up and the tall European host (or dinning manager) told me there are many parties wanted to sit together not only yours. I am sorry. We have 5 kids (toddlers and 5-8 years old) and if we have to sit separated table then there is no fun for the kids any more. Eventually, they create a makeshift table for us on the 2nd day. Wait staff is excellent as usual. I really appreciated their service with triple the tip for them. Without the wait staff, this should have 1 star.

Steward is Mr. Patrick. Since we are gold, we normally have 1 bottle water and complement drink for each gold member. The steward did not give us and when we asked he told to go to customer service. Customer service told us to go back to the steward. This happened 3 rounds and we were so sick of it. Eventually, they gave us. I never see anything like this with Carnival. It is clearly management issue here. Room is not clean and I can post pictures if needed. Look like this ship has a serious management issue. The workers were working very hard but did not seem they had a right guidance.

I am on the breeze now and the staff is awesome. Friendly and goes above and beyond for guests. The men and women in spa are wonderful and I can't say enough about how amazing the entire staff is. I have seen people yelling and cussing service desk people and the staff takes it with a smile and continues to go above and beyond. Way to go Carnival Breeze staff .

We talked to our cabin steward and he said most of the crew is new. Not much cohesion or camaraderie. Our dining staff were great as we're our cabin staff. They did look overworked and we found out that they had 35 rooms instead of the 20 they used to have. They also didn't have evening turndown service unless you asked for it. Some people didn't know to ask so they were mad that they didn't have it. The crew were reduced as well. We had piles of rotting food out in the hallways all day, and food was not cleaned up quickly in the lido deck dining. We sailed on the sunshine and there were so many crew cleaning everywhere. I didn't see the same level on he Breeze.

Airamnamor Explain please, this was a bitch about staff attitudes and performance. I've never experienced this on my previous cruises. I know the crew work hard but have never seen or felt the the crew were never giving less than 100% to the passengers.

Cruise director is awesome and the entertainment are awesome. This crew is new and they increased their cabin load over 50% for the same pay. Carnival needs to do a better job training and compensating.

Perhaps the TSA and air travel would be more to your liking on your next vacation. Have cruised with Carnival multiple times without an issue and have always had a good time.

been on several different ships, and the Breeze by far was the best. perhaps you are leaving out the reasoning why they responded to you like thay.

Sounds like to me someone who was never going to be happy regardless. Don't cruise any more, that will solve ALL YOUR ISSUES

Went on the breeze in march and didn't have any of these issues. In fact I think it is the best ship me and my family have been on.

been on the Breeze 3 times and a 4th coming up in October. never once have we had anything but great service and friendly crew. this many complaints usually means there was nothing they could have done to make your trip a happy one

No previous cruises, seems you traveled with low expectations and got what you wanted. Cruising is not for everyone, try hiking next time and then you have only yourself to complain to.

cruising isn't for everyone, I have a hard time believing everything you complained about. Maybe need to find another type of vacation.
