Review summary

Again, this was our 4th time cruising with this itinerary, on different ships; But this was our 3rd time on the Breeze. We love the ship (obviously). The island theme and decor is fun. Guy Fieri's food joints are a plus! Thank you, Carnival! But it will be time for us to move on up. We do cruise with other cruise lines. But definitely looking at Vista and Horizon for our next Carnival cruise!!!!

Embarkation

Galveston port: Embarkation was organized and painless! We had one of the later times: 2pm. The lines moved quickly; everyone was friendly and professional.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Enjoyed the food on the Breeze. This was our 3rd Breeze cruise. The addition of Guy's BBQ is one of the most awesome upgrades to the ship! We always loved Guy's Burgers. Also, the Mongolian Grill, and the Blue Iquana Taco/Burrito place. I always enjoyed breakfast at the Marketplace on Lido Deck. Blush Dining Room cuisine was good, although I swear it seems that the portions are getting smaller, and the selections less varied. Loved our waiter in Blush Dining, Somkiat!!!! He took care of our large group quite well. My one big complaint/recommendation: Guy's BBQ joint needs to be open daily, and stay open longer. The hours are 12-2:30; they are closed on port days. It should be open the same hours as Guy's Burger joint (12-6pm).

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I really wish there were more deck activities (in days of old, there were more bands performing on the Lido Deck each day), but overall I was satisfied with the options available. The gym is large enough to get a good workout. The Serenity Spa Deck is so nice and quiet; my husband and I used the jetted hot tub. Great, after a long day sightseeing!

Entertainment

Enjoyed the comedy and variety shows. Wish there were more!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff on cruise ships are worked - and do work - so very hard. The Carnival Breeze is no exception. In fact, they seem to now be doing more with less. Yet they are so kind, accommodating, and professional. Always smiling. Always wanting to please. I take my hat off to them! Our cabin steward, Rahma, was kind and professional. He checked with us daily to see what he could do to make our day as pleasant as possible. He was unassuming, but yet always available when we needed him. Kudos!

Had an awesome driver for our island tour: Trevor 'Junior' Binns, of JR Tours (see pic). He was amazing! He accommodated every one of our (18 in our group) wishes and whims, gave us a great history lesson of the island, and treated us as if we were his only clients for the entire week! Loved Margarittaville!

George Town, Grand Cayman

Had great time just hanging out here. We just went out on our own and did some sightseeing. Very nice time. Loved Margarittaville!!

Cozumel, Mexico

Enjoyed our time here. We did no excursions. We did hang out at a beach. Some folks snorkeled. Did a little shopping for the guests who had never been. Uhh, loved Margarittaville!

Disembarkation

Disembarkation was a Breeze! Well organized, quick, and even easier than embarkation-go figure!
