Review summary

Cruise was amazing. The staff was phenomenal and we loved everyone we were fortunate to meet! Food and shows/activities were incredible and we will definitely be on another cruise with Carnival!

Embarkation

I was a little worried when we first got there because of how long the line was. I was very surprised at how smooth and quickly the process went and how fast we were actually able to get through the check in process and on to the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Food was all around amazing. We had Guys Burgers two nights, breakfast buffet one morning, and the rest of our meals on the ship were in the Blush dining room. (Brunch and dinner) The dining room was by far my favorite and the food was spectacular!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We participated in a few pub quizzes and a game of Yahtzee. We had a blast playing those. The pools and hot tubs were a little overcrowded so we didn't get into those.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Really enjoyed the shows that we attended! The veterans/ military appreciation was hands down the best! I always support the military, and we were traveling with an active duty member of the Air Force. It was heart warming to see Carnival recognize our past and present service members and support them and their family and friends.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our service was phenomenal! I loved hearing our room steward Patrick sing as he was cleaning the other rooms in the morning. Wonderful way to start my day and always put me in a good mood! He was unbelievably sweet, kind, and friendly and all around amazing! We had the most amazing waiters that I have ever had. Anjit, Ted, and Dinar were unbelievably amazing and I couldn't have asked for anything better! They made the entire trip worth every penny we spent. They were very professional, friendly, and what we looked forward to every night. The three of them are the main reason we ate dinner (and brunch) in the Blush dining room from Tuesday to Saturday night. We woke up extra early Sunday morning just so we could see them one more time before we left. They are truly amazing people and I loved getting to know each of them. I was more sad about not seeing them again than I was about the cruise being over. They made our entire trip and I will never forget Ted, Anjit, or Dinar. (And I will never come close to finding another waiter/waitress who is as amazing as they are!!) I will be taking another cruise in the future and I pray I am lucky enough to have them as my waiters and Patrick as my room steward again!! Our cruise director, Swchartz, was unbelievably awesome!! I would stop what I was doing just to listen to his announcements. He set the mood for the different activities he hosted and did an outstanding job at it. He was hilarious, and fun to watch and listen to. All cruise directors need to be like him!! DJ Sarah was great. We actually met her at the sushi restaurant one night and she was a sweetheart. We are from the same area as her so we all hit it off and had a great night at dinner talking with her. We went to the club a few times after that when she was working so we could say hi and ended up staying in there for a few hours. (We probably wouldn't have gone to the club if we hadn't met her.)

Ship Quality

He ship was clean for the most part. (There were some dirty tables here and there but that's expected with as many people as there was on the ship.) The staff was great about trying to keep it maintained at all times. The layout was a little frustrating at the beginning until we got familiar with it. (Some of the floors did not go straight through from one end to the other, having to go up or down a floor and walk through before going back to the original floor to get where you wanted to go.) Once we became familiar with the layout there was no issues with it.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was bigger than I expected. The setup of the room was very functional and allowed us to not feel cramped. Cabin was cleaned every day and I loved the towel animals that were left for us!

Ship tip

Eat dinner in the dinning room! The food is incredible and if their waiters are anything like the ones we had, it will be a memory they will never forget!

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas Did not visit port

Cozumel, Mexico

The port was clean and I enjoyed walking through the different shops. We did the Everyone Loves Sharks and Rays excursion and it was great! Some of the best snorkeling I've done.

Belize City, Belize

This day started out terrible. We had originally booked an excursion but was not told that it leaves directly from the ship. We were sent by tender to the port and once there, told that there was no way for us to get back to the ship in time to make it to our excursion. We decided to do a different excursion (Carnival was great at refunding our money for the first excursion we had originally booked.) Our excursion felt rushed and like we had wasted our money. We were told we would have 2 hours on the island before we went snorkeling and 2 hours of snorkeling time (the reason we decided to do it) We had about 15 mins on the island then were rushed to get in the boat for the snorkeling part. We were able to finish the food we had purchased for lunch before we had to throw it away so we wouldn't miss out on snorkeling. We had brought our personal snorkeling gear and was told to leave it on the tender. "That was the boat we would be using when we went snorkeling." We were crammed into another boat and unable to retrieve our items. (We had to use their equipment.) The water was murky and not pretty at all. I was not impressed. When the snorkeling part was over we went back to the island. They said the island's nickname was "Gilligan's Island" and I understood why. We felt like we were trapped there with nothing. There was more people than space, limited amount of chairs and shaded areas, and the "swimming area" was not very swimmable. We didn't get to spend the amount of time there that we were told because they had people from 2 different ships (with two different departure times) together. It was not a well planned out trip and it made for a miserable day. The port of Belize was nasty. It was dirty, overcrowded, and unbearable. I will not go back.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
The port was beautiful! We did the Mayan Princess all inclusive resort for our excursion. I loved the fact that we got to drive through the area on our way to and from. The resort was gorgeous and the food was incredible. They served the best fried fish I have ever had. The beach area was overwhelming with all the locals constantly approaching you trying to sell you something but I had read reviews about this excursion before hand and knew to expect it. It was a very relaxed and slow paced day. We were able to do what we wanted when we wanted without being rushed from one place to another. The resorts facilities were clean and well taken care of and the staff we encountered were nice. Our tour guide Sharandi was awesome and very informative. I learned so much from her and she was willing to answer any and all questions we had. I fell in love with Roatan from the moment we got there and it was everything I was hoping it to be and more. I will definitely go back there again.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was a pretty smooth process. I liked the way it was set up on the ship for different decks to have different time slots. It made the process flow smoothly and we really didn't have to wait long to get off.
