Review summary

Our 7 days cruise was supposed to have 3 ports of call and 3 sea days. Unfortunately Grand Cayman was cancelled because they couldn't tender us in as the waves were too big. Obviously not Carnival's fault, but it gave us 4 at sea days and only 2 port days. We were pretty tired of the ship by the end and ready to get off. There's just not enough to do to keep you entertained on board. Even 3 days would have been too much. Next time we would sail from Florida to get more port days.

Food was okay; nothing too special, but not bad either. Fairly good choices of restaurants to eat lunch at. Staff was all great. Ship was clean and pretty well kept up. They had several comedians come on board and all were great.

Whatever you do, do NOT rent a car from Enterprise in Galveston, or for that matter plan on taking a taxi from the port at all. There are only a handful of taxis and they often take people all the way to Houston before coming back to the port. We waited 2 and a half hours for a taxi. The various shuttles were coming through all the time and people had no problems with those. Once we got to Enterprise to pick up our rental we waited another hour and a half for them to have a car ready for us. It wasted our whole day and was a sour end to our vacation.

Loved having a balcony. We had connecting rooms but they didn't open the door to connect the balconies. Too bad, but not a big deal. Room was made up once per day (have been on other cruises where it's twice a day). Cabin steward did a nice job and was happy to give us towels or whatever we needed.

Ship tip

Choose your itinerary wisely and think about how many at seas days you want. The ship is nice. There are two pools that were pretty full of kids anytime the sun was out. The Jacuzzis are not that warm and despite 18 and over signs, all had kids in them, but they behaved well. Ropes course is neat.

The whole taxi rental car thing sounded really bad. Sorry you had to go through that.
