Review summary

As adults, we have sailed on Norweigian and Celebrity. With our daughter, we have sailed on Disney. This was by far the best cruise we have been on! We were so pleasantly surprised with the Breeze. I've had the impression that Carnival was just a discount boozy party boat, so we were leaning towards the Royal Carribbean Liberty of the Seas. The $3,000 difference was enough to sway us towards the Breeze, and we were not disappointed!

Our cabin was a decent size, simple and clean with a nice balcony. The 7th floor kept us high enough off the 5th floor veranda deck and gave us a nice view. Our room steward was great! The couch that converted to a bed was very hard at first, but after talking to Thana she informed us that it could be flipped to a soft side. I love that the beds had different options for different kinds of sleepers.

My 8 year old daughter kept exclaiming about how much she loved the boat. THere were so many activities on the Lido deck- slides, water park, pools that weren't over crowded, plenty of hot tubs, putt putt golf, basket ball, ping pong, ropes course. Nothing had an overly long line. There were fun activities throughout the day and we were never bored.

Because of our late seating and young family, we were not able to enjoy the big shows at night. We did go to the comics and magicians, though, and they were a great option!

Food in the big dining rooms were so-so. Maybe in part because I was so full from the delicious options in the other parts of the boat. We tried the Italian and Japanese specialty restaurants, which were great. The free options included hamburgers (so yummy!), tacos, pizza, Indian tandoor and the buffet. These were all great and I wished we could eat them even more!

Our ports of call were awesome as well. We had to skip Belize because of fog, but the staff were able to rearrange all of our other excursions, no problem. We were given $15 per person on board credit and a glass of wine for our troubles. To be honest, I didn't mind missing Belize and being on the boat an extra day because the boat was so fun.

I highly recommend the Cenote Hopping with Lunch at Cozumel. The best excursion I've ever done, hands down. It was nice to have such a knowledgeable guide, and to get away from the tourist areas.

We were also on deck 7 and had Thana, it was all great. We had a grandmother who needed a wheel chair ... no problems. I didn't see a stage band, it was the first time that canned music was used for the stage shows. A bit of a let down there. We certainly knew when our group of 11 entered the Carnival zone when we were at the terminal. My wife and I did not really leave the ship and had a fantastic time all around. Our 6th cruise. Next year , hope to make the ruins in Belize
