Customer service desk was horrendous\charged for items not bought\never followed up as stated

Review summary

I have cruised 4 times with carnival and never had a problem before.  This was awful.  The first day the room keys did not work, went back and forth trying keys, waiting in long lines ( no help staff at all) or limited.  Could not get in my room until 6:00 after wasting 5 hours. On top of that when i did get in my luggage was not there until 7:00 and could not get dressed for dinner/  i had charges to my room from other people that were not mine, waited in line for hours, first time and then had to follow up and wait again. They never called back. i also had $50.00 credit that was suppose to be on my card for purchasing and again they would not honor it. multiple times in line, never called back.  At least 7 hours in lines trying to straighten this out.  we always had good luck but this was horrendous.  What will carnival reimburse there customers for such a mess.

Cabin was fine. Had a nightmare getting in the room the first day. wasted an entire day and then my luggage did not show up until 7:00. Had to carry everything around for hours

Ship tip

Carnival needs to correct the staff issue at the help desk along with the lack of staff. They never followed up, I could not get in my room, not enough time. Do customers need to allocate a full day of fixing issues in line of there vacation. Horrendous mess, larger ship but no excuse at all

@innoscentmalik amen!!! It's a vacation not a perfect world. Attitudes can make or break anything in life! I have never been on a perfect vacation, but what in life is? Enjoy what you can and put behind you the crap that isn't so perfect. It's all good!

Things can happen on any cruise line, even RC. Six cruises with Carnival and have never had any serious issues. Customer service has always been excellent for us.

I firmly believe it's how you handle the issues that arise while on vacation! Everything may not go the way you planned! It has to do with your attitude and how to keep your emotions in check! I guarantee you if a cruise line can ruin your vacation your most likely a miserable person and your life sucks!!

Really Malissa? There is zero chance you just happened to see ALL reviews lol. Why go out of your way to troll a cruise line you claim you will never use again? Is your life that sad and miserable? Plus I have done RC twice and will never go back. Nothing bad to say about RC just that Carnival is more fun, food is just as good and it's less expensive. So please crawl away.

I've learned a little Indonesian, and by the end of the cruise we are best friends. I also give them an extra personal cash tip, they don't have to share or declare.

If you do not prepay your gratuities before you board ship they will automatically be added to your sail and sign account. But if you don't think they deserve their tips go to customer service and have them removed. Personally, the staff works their butts off and not only do I prepay them, I always leave a daily token of appreciation. I have never had a bad experience with Carnival so I suggest you go elsewhere for your cruising pleasure.

I also had charges on my card I did not authorize and it was horrible trying to get them off. I never did get it settled until I got home and called customer service

I ended up here because for some reason Shipmate shows me ALL comments for ALL ships. Jeez people take a chill pill. No ones trolling anything. These are just comments and other peoples opinions. If your running thru the comments looking for arguments and to insult people maybe YOU are the troll.

@malissa, just curious, if u and hubby are rc people, and never been on ccl and never will, how is it u ended up here? I've had nothing but top notch service with carnival.

I have sailed with Carnival 4 times and my first comments are always how great the customer service is and how clean the ships are. I was sea sick on the last cruise and they moved me to Lido mid-ship no questions and they did it quickly. I especially loved the Breeze.

It has been my experience that on board credits are refundable -meaning you spend $50 and receive a refund, usually within a week or so of submitting proof of the expense. If you booked your trip through a travel site, you should contact your agent to confirm their policy.

I have never had to wait more than 10 min. for customer service in line or on the phone. the customer service has always between spot on.

We have cruised with Carnival 9 times and never had a problem. The stateroom stewards work their tails off and are always ready to help you in any way. If your luggage isn't there right away go with the flow. The first night the dining room is very lenient in dress code if getting the luggage to your room is slow. I am on vacation when I step on the ship and I am going to enjoy every second. Happy Cruising!!

Who were you supposed to get the onboard credit from? If you booked through a site other than Carnival, that company is responsible for the promised credit, not Carnival. I've seen a lot of people complain about not getting their OBC from those sites.

I've cruised with a group, this will be my 9th cruise and I have always had excellent service. They did overbook a balcony room for some friends of mine, they upgraded them to a suite at the same rate for a balcony. My brother cruised with RC and will not cruise with any line again. All I can say is for every bad experience, there are many more good ones.

Hubby and I are RC people. we always hear horror stories about Carnival customer service. hubby went carnival once and it was awful. i have never been and never will.
