Review summary

Captain did a fabulous job of getting us out of Hurricane Lee. We missed 3 ports, but given a $100 obc. Plus $900 for future cruise. Very generous as 2 of the 3 days in Boston were beautiful fall days. The Captain’s wife was charming, a real asset. We were thrilled to miss a hurricane. No rough water. He updated us often. We enjoyed the cruise very much.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
It was hard to get into the dining room as private setting. Only sharing tables available. We wanted to do the early show. If you were not seated by 7, seats were hard to come by. A lot of people standing for shows. The food was good. Planks was a fun new venue! International cafe became our happy place. Good food like Guinness pie so we could eat dinner there.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We played trivia about twice a day. Sometimes 3 times. Staff made the games fun. Ring toss and bean bag contests were fun.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Two shows were great. The Born to Be Wild production show and the violin player were the best ones. The rest were mediocre. The musicians in Crooners bar were better than the shows Kevin Brando is interactive. Sim was good listening.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The toilet lost the suction. Guest relations were called twice. No one ever came. We gave up and went to bed. It was fixed while we slept. Must have been our whole deck.

Cabin / Stateroom

Not enough outlets. We could not have two chubby blocks. We would have to remove a block to use the blow dryer. The cabin and balcony were quite big. Plenty of storage.

Ship tip

Get to the show room at least 30 minutes early, for the early show.

Ports of call

Quebec City, Quebec

We did our own walking tour. Ship is by the lower part of the city. And a harbor cruise is close by.

Ville Saguenay, Quebec

The hop on bus was an old school bus. The highlight was the LITTLE WHITE HOUSE. it survived the deluge of 1996.

Sydney, Nova Scotia

Not much to do. Went to a church where Royalty goes. Except last time the Queen visited they used the hockey stadium.

Boston, Massachusetts

5 out of 5
Walked the town 2 of the 3 days. When the effects of Hurricane Lee were the worst, we stayed on ship.

Disembarkation

Only one small door to exit so a long back up. Especially as wheel chairs would go to the front. Loading the buses was confusion. We see directed to one airport bus, but they started filling up the one next door which left before our bus as we had to sit and wait for it to fill up.
