Review summary

We did enjoy the cruise. Didn’t get to port at Belize due to wind. Costa Maya was not on my review option but we did go there and enjoyed. Did Mayan ruins excursion and recommend if you like history.

Food and Dining

Normally Princess has great food. This time the buffet was pretty sparse and not great variety. I imagine this might be because of cost savings. Also the cooking of the various meats was not optimal. Overcooked chicken and pork mainly. Very little beef was offered. Lots of seafood. Breakfast was fine and we always ate there for that meal. Some lunches or dinners ended up with us only having a salad due to nothing else enticing for us. Ate a couple of times in MDR and it was fine. Also ate at the Salty Dog grill by the pool. Their hamburgers were same as before - ok but nothing special. Did not eat at International Cafe.

Entertainment

Carlos Oscar was comedian and had two shows. We went to both as he was very good and family friendly. Saw an Elton John tribute by Liam Stewart that I enjoyed. Very talented. Was not able to attend the song and dance show.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5

All staff were very friendly and kind. You could tell they were happy to be there. Several thanked us for sailing so they could come back to work. Any time I asked for help, the crew responded with a smile and always ensured we were satisfied. Several went above and beyond

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5

Cabin would have gotten 5 stars but we unfortunately had to smell the stack exhaust most of the time. Husbands wasn’t bothered but I was. Otherwise the cabin was clean and nice. Steward very good. We always get mini suites and enjoy the extra room.

Ship tip

If you enjoy reading or just relaxing in a quiet place with a fabulous view, check out the Skywalker Club on deck 19. During the day you can sit and see a 360 view while doing whatever it is you enjoy. I read and hubby listened to music. Very few people around.

Thanks for the review - we are sailing on Caribbean in March for 19 day Panama Canal trip. If you get a chance to cruise on Princess again, the yogurt parfait and the Chicken Waldorf salad from the International Cafe are wonderful!
