Review summary

As a Princess Platinum member with 109 nights aboard, I offer these comments. The introduction to the Medallion is a good addition to both the paying passengers and ship alike. The Medallion offered many benefits which makes the cruising experience better. However, I feel (this) Princess ship has forgotten the excellent service and premium meals it once offered its passengers. New electronic gizmodo's are nice but a bad experience will always remain fresh in ones memory.

Food dishes in all dining areas much better on past voyages. Experienced watered-down coffee and orange juice many mornings. Some days the coffee dispenser(s) were not operational.

Entertainment

Stage shows spectacular! They truly outdid themselves. Bar singers were poor and music was overly loud even for us with hearing issues.

Service and Staff

Room steward totally non-responsive to many calls. Buffet staff mostly ignored cleaning tables and rarely brought or refilled drinks. Limited theater seating provoked passengers actually fighting over seats. Should have been three nightly shows not just two. Dining room was grossly under-staffed. One waiter did the work of 2.5 workers.

Ship just remodeled this year's but still exhibits wear in furniture and fixtures.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was clean but furniture showed signs of much wear. Shower stall grossly tiny. Could not turn around in it. Elevators broke down frequently!

Ship tip

Research both your cabin (size and location). Being under or near the gym or a bar will be most unpleasant. Research each optional paid land excursion before booking. Many are quite overpriced as well as not worth seeing.

Disembarkation fast and easy with Princess Medallion. Luggage retrieval was far too lengthy and disorganized in the terminal.

We cruised on this ship in 2016. I read so many negative comments pre-cruise I considered cancelling it. It ended up being our favorite cruise so far. Food was excellent, cabin was beautiful and staff were outstanding. Yes, the showers are small. Yes, we did have to arrive at the theater at least 30 mins early to get a seat. We always went to the early show. We are cruising on the Caribbean Princess again in Feb.

I wasn't on this cruise, but was from 7-6 to 7-20-19. We found the food in the dining rooms very good, and the service in the buffet was just as it has always been on Princess...they were right there cleaning tables, and there was always a spot and someone asking for drinks. Maybe we just frequented a different area of the buffet? I thought the ship was clean and loved the new chairs and tables in a few areas around the ship. We also did not have issues with the few shows we went to (most we had seen before). I do wonder about 2 things that you mentioned. 1. If you have 109 days aboard, surely you know how small the showers are? It They are mostly the same in balcony cabins on all their ships. Also...unless the cabin you listed is not the real one, you were not under any gym or bar, but you were under the kids' area, although 3 decks below. Hmmm. Sorry you were disappointed.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion so I respect your comments, I am also a platinum member and was on the same cruise, we have been on this ship 3 times before liked the refit and medallion found very useful once we got used to it. We had a great time.

Sailing for the first time on this cruise ship the end of November and find some of the comments concerning about the quality of food, wait staff, and lack of seating in the theatre.
