Review summary

Princess had come highly recommended to us. This was my second cruise with them and it was nothing like my first! Not sure if it was because this was the last cruise of the season to these ports and workers were at the end of their contracts or what, but I would not pick Princess as my first choice in the future. I’m quite worried as I’m booked for Alaska on Princess in July. I’m praying it is much better!

Embarkation

Airline lost our luggage. Our ship was actually delayed an hour due to engine trouble and had there been communication we could have gotten our luggage.

Long wait times in lines as the ship was overbooked. The quality has gone down in the last 10 years.

Onboard Activities

Pools were crowded and cold. The Thermal Spa was a rip off. There was no aromatherapy in the steam room and the dry sauna was not even room temperature. The Thermal beds were always taken. Tried to get a spot in the Santuary and it was booked solid the whole cruise.

Did not go out of their way to help or even be kind and sympathetic to solve your issues. Very aloof and rude.

I’m giving this a One because the Guest Services Agents were aloof and rude. Our luggage was lost and they were unsympathetic. We then encountered many other problems and they were stone faced. Not once did they apologize or show care or concern. The food staff was lovely, room steward did his job but was not overly enthusiastic or friendly.

Ship Quality

We had been told this ship received an upgrade but it still looked old and tired. The boutique and shops had very little merchandise especially if you needed to replace your lost items.

Ship tip

The ports are all Very Windy. Didn’t stay in port long enough to do more than one excursion. I’d skip this cruise all together.

A lot of petty complaints if you ask me. Luggage lost is very unfortunate but the airline lost your luggage not the cruise ship. Why didn't you reserve the Sanctuary well in advance if that was so important to you?

No. We had the Alaska one booked first for a friend’s retirement. My mom talked me into the one in May for my Anniversary.
