Adequate but certainly exceptional.

Review summary
We have only cruised once prior to this 14 years ago on Royal Caribbean and felt it was terrific. We found our experience on the Caribbean Princess to be adequate but certainly not exceptional. We had expected a Hilton, Hyatt, Westin quality experience but felt this was more Holiday Inn. The constant sales pitches for PCL's sponsored port shops, tables set up in the atrium with jewelry and watches and 3 or 4 portrait centers set up in the atrium created in the words of a veteran cruiser we met a "mercenary" atmosphere. In addition, we do not tolerate cigarette smoking well at all and despite there being designated smoking areas we continually encountered second hand smoke in nonsmoking areas.Ports of call
Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)
Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)
Pros: Ports of call
Cons: The QVC of the sea. Too much marketing of their sponsored stores at ports, tables set up in the atrium and 3-4 portarait stations set up in the atrium.
