Very nice cruise, but not back to pre covid experiences.

Review summary

Overall the cruise was very good the weather was exceptionally good for April. Couldn't get in any of the specialty resturants. The App is annoying as you have to book your shows and breakfast and dinner in the resturants and there can be a wait. The buffet was fine but very busy on sea days. Get to the theatre early as even when you book you may not get in. Everything was much improved on last summer but cruising as we knew it pre pandemic is over. Despite the covid protocol and my constant hand washing, sadly I tested positive this morning for covid. 😷🤒

Embarkation

2 hours from start to finish. Very long queue to have the covid test, then a very long wait in the packed airless lounge.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was very good, much better than last summer, I'm a picky eater but there was plenty of choice for me.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Only 2 hot tubs on board and you have to get in at the crack of dawn or wait for everyone else to get off before you get a go.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Entertainment was OK. Lack of new shows and the only new show was cancelled on the last night. Had seen the comedian before. You have to book to get in the theatre but having done that on one occasion it was full and we couldn't get in. Staff were not bothered.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
95% of the service we received was absolutely perfect.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everywhere seemed very clean and staff could be seen regularly wiping bannisters and tables.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin clean and tidy when we arrived. Cabins are only serviced in the mornings now so no clean towels in the evening or little chocolate on my pillow.

Ship tip

Book any specialty restaurants before you go, we tried to book on the first day only to be told they were fully booked for the week.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very well organised and quick. Usual wait for a lift as they were full of people dragging thier suitcases around. Shame there isn't a lift specially for people that can't use the stairs.
