Review summary

Excellent cruise and a great introduction to both Britannia and P&O. We are definitely P&O converts and will definitely cruise with them again and would not hesitate to return to Britannia despite it's size ( this had worried us originally due to a previous bad experience on the similarly sized NCL Epic). The only vibe downside for us was the obstructed view cabin, however our own fault for booking and have learned from our experience.

Embarkation

Generally very smooth although there did appear to be some confusion with staff at Southampton over the lettering system used to call people forward to check in & embarkation.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
All venues provided an excellent variety of food on a par with the best food we have ever experienced on a cruise to date & in a lotto cases exceeded our previous experiences. Special mention to Sindhu and afternoon tea at the Epicurean which were both superb.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin itself was exceptionally clean and well thought out providing more than adequate space for us and our wardrobe. Although we accept that we had booked a partially obstructed view balcony cabin it is very much a lottery as to the level of obstruction involved. Unfortunately the gantry for lifeboat no. 9 pretty much obscures all of the view to the left of the balcony in G509. Had we have had the cabin next door this would have been less of an issue but that is the gamble you take when booking on an early saver fare. This did not however spoil our trip. We have learned our lesson and will ensure that we have non-obstructed in the future.

Love the britannia . Despite its size it never seemed overcrowded and we had a great time

Fully agree with you, we made the same mistake booking an inside cabin never again always a balcony for us now.
