Embarkation

If I sail from Vancouver again, I will disregard the assigned check-in times since it didn’t seem to matter anyhow. Check-in for at least three ships were queued together and then separated right before final clearance. Very chaotic and unnecessarily long waiting time. Despite the requests for everyone to board as assigned, Vancouver was very easily overwhelmed and unprepared for more than one ship a day.

Service and Staff

Victoria, our Casino hostess, was wonderful. She was energetic, engaging, and a problem solver. I wish more hosts and hostesses were like her! She could reach her counterparts across the fleet a lot about customer service! Sarah, the Loyalty Ambassador, was wonderful as well. She was a problem solver, didn’t make excuses, and helped clarify a problem with one of our accounts quickly and expertly! A great asset.

Ship tip

Brilliance was once a very majestic ship, and is ideally suited for small ports like it visits in Alaska. Our cruise was six nights, which was ideal. Anything longer would have been uncomfortable too long because of a lack of things to do on board. It is due for a nice, long yard period with attention to rust and deep cleaning.

Disembarkation

Very poor job by Royal to engage the port with expedited services, resulting in a long back-up in clearing immigration even though we already did immigration in San Francisco. The result was more than a 45-minute delay in clearing upon arrival, including no Global Entry services. Royal needs to do better.

It's the 1st time I've seen comments on casino staff. I'm glad it was positive. I've how chaotic Vancouver cruise terminal is in a number of reviews. I am going to Alaska back to back next year, I'm hoping I don't experience that. Thank you for your review.
