This was the first of three cruises we’ve booked on small ship cruise lines to see how we would like it. All I can say is we loved this one. Very relaxing. Older crowd, but not exclusively. The ship had everything we needed, and none of the things we didn’t want (casino, art gallery, water slides, etc).
Embarkation

It was all right. Still lots of manually searching through names in stacks of printed lists… they gave the impression they were doing this for the first time in Port Everglades. Perhaps they were!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Very happy with the food. It doesn’t cross into gourmet territory, but it was at a high standard.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
All right, I suppose. The standard stuff. A comment though about the two guest lecturers– one was ok, the other a disaster. An alleged expert on the Caribbean, and she didn’t know how to say “Antilles.” Add to that lots of fact-free opinions presented as fact (including the old “noble savage” canard), and my IQ went down having watched it. There were more lectures that I understandably stayed away from.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
All the music as easy to listen to, whether live or recorded. Loved it. The stage shows were actually quite good especially considering the size of the stage and the small troupe.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Really excellent service. Always friendly. No upsell, not even a suggestion to buy some additional product or service. We loved it.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Over 20 years old but in good nick. The staterooms are small by most standards, and the bathrooms by any standard, yet we managed.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Small by most standards, very small bathroom and shower … but manageable. Enough storage space.
Ship tip
Don’t miss the one sea day brunch buffet they do in the Discovery Restaurant. It’s fantastic.
Beautiful harbour area, the town seems a bit sketchy. We will wait for them to build more tunnels and bridges before we venture out away from Castries again.
Imagine a gymnast performing a fantastic routine then stumbling and falling on the landing. That’s what happened here. The only queue we experienced the entire cruise was to get off the ship, and that didn’t move for an hour. The cruise director seemed to be politely blaming the CBP in terminal 19… but who knows? The information sheet handed out about disembarkation didn’t even mention a take-your-own-bags walk off option, so we didn’t think it was an option and didn’t do it. A mistake, as it turned out.
