Review summary

Overall a good cruise considering that this is the first time for this itinerary. The few problems we did have were not Azamaras fault. I think they may want to consider not stopping at a couple of the ports this late in the year as they were mostly shut down for the year.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very easy boarding process

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Specialty dining was fantastic. Buffets were very good, but a little crowded at times.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We did several of the trivia games and did the scavenger hunt. They had two hot tubs and a small pool, but weather was to cold for most people to use.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The singers and dancers did a variety of different show that were very good. Azamara also brought on a four piece local group one night that was excellent. The Azamazing evening with a Cirque du Soleil style show was also good except for the seating in the venue. The performance was on a short stage and seating was on chairs around the stage. Unless you sat in the front couple of rows, it was hard to see the show.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room butler and housekeeping staff were great. The wait staff were also great and by the second day knew what everyone in our group drank.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was spotless and well laid out. Due to the cold weather, the outside seating for the buffet was unusable. This made it crowded for dining during the prime times.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Great room with plenty of room. Nice size balcony and great shower. With the room directly below the patio snack bar, it was noisy in our room in the afternoon and early evening.

Ports of call

Boston, Massachusetts

5 out of 5

Portland, Maine

5 out of 5

EASTPORT, MAINE

4 out of 5
Nice small port with businesses on the pier.

Saint John, New Brunswick Did not visit port

Port was cancelled due to ship damage in the previous port. The damage was due to a problem with the pier at Eastport

Halifax, Nova Scotia

5 out of 5

Sydney, Nova Scotia

5 out of 5
Nice port with shops right on the pier and business district close by.

Havre-Saint-Pierre, Quebec

3 out of 5
Port was small and not much to there due to being late in the season.

Sept Iles, Quebec

4 out of 5
Rainy day when we visited. Nice tent setup on the dock with local entertainment and artisans. They also have plans to build a permanent structure close by .

Cruise Saguenay Fjord

5 out of 5

SAGUENAY, QUEBEC, CANADA

3 out of 5
Small port with not a lot of shops or things to do

Quebec City, Quebec

5 out of 5
Great city with a lot of wonderful things to see and do. Could easily spend a couple days here.

Montreal, Quebec

5 out of 5

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Took a little longer than normal due to the port giving the ship wrong information on what deck we would disembark on.

Appreciate your insights into your cruise. We’ll be on the Journey to Ireland in 2025. It will be our first time with Azamara, any additional tips?

Glad you mostly enjoyed your cruise. I guess the downside of Azamara targeting smaller unusual ports is that they may not have much for tourists to do there.
