Review summary
We were on the Rhine River with Avalon in Dec 2017. Based on our great experiences with that trip, we decided to return for the Danube. If we had the experience like we did in Dec 2018, we would not have considered rebooking. This trip was just plain ordinary with a couple of poor itinerary days. Imagery II Dec 2017 did lots of little things to make the time more festive. For example, little treats/gifts in the room each night, better themed meals, and staff who were more engaging and attentive. In addition to the absolutely terrible arrangements for Nuremberg, it seems that minor tweaks in the schedule would have improved the ports of call. It was apparent that there is very little expectation to do anything outside the guided tour. If you did the walking tours, minimal time to do anything else. I wouldn't recommend the Danube cruise itinerary for anyone other than those travelers who can only do the bare minimum of a trip. Disappointing.Embarkation
