Review summary

Loved it and I'm so glad I went after 2 1/2 years without a vacation!

Embarkation

This was the worst part. I didn't mind the layout of the process, but they had us wait for 2 hours in the cold outside the terminal. At the very least, they could have given us refreshments!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The eggs were watery the first day, but the rest was fantastic!

Windjammer Marketplace

4 out of 5

This place was expectedly quite busy. Nobody seemed to know where to go, which caused backups in the lines. The food, however, was excellent.

Jamie's Italian

5 out of 5

My favorite speciality restaurant! The lasagne is to die for!

The Café@TWO70

3 out of 5

We loved the venue but hated the show in the lounge. It was "Spectra's Caberet". There was just way to much going on onstage. The technology detracted from the talent onstage. If they did something like "Aladdin", which is in the Public Domain, where the technology is still a character but not a lead role, that may have helped.

Café Promenade

The pizza at Sorrentos is a must!

Vintages

5 out of 5

Nice and quiet, great place for a nightcap!

Solarium Bistro

5 out of 5

This is the best place to have breakfast if you don't want to fight the crowds in the Windjammer! Hardly any lines and much quieter!

Sorrentos

Loved the pizza!

Schooner Bar

4 out of 5

Nice but a bit crowded.

American Icon Grill

We had fabulous service here and the service was quick and easy!

Boleros

Great entertainment!

Onboard Activities

Loved the bumper cars and The North Star!

Seaplex

The bumper cars are a MUST! They are so much fun, but get there early. They opened at 10 on the last day and I got there around 10:15. They were already backed up out the door and had to cut the line short when they closed at noon. Three of the cars already had dead batteries by the time I got to ride them.

Port Merchants

Not a lot of variety here.

Entertainment

I LOVED "We Will Rock You" and "Frankie And The Dreamers". Featuring the music of Queen, "We Will Rock You" tells the story of Galileo Figero and Scaramouche as they try to rebel musically against the Killer Queen. Set in the future, this Olivier Award winning musical from the West End is a must for any Queen fan! "Frankie And The Dreamers" is a "Frankie Valli And The Four Seasons" tribute group. It starts off as a tribute group but doesn't end that way! If I had to give any comment to the staff, it would be for the Activity Staff to have more of a presence. I'm an Activity Director, so I know how hard this can be, especially with COVID. Our protocols were different (I used to work in the nursing homes) but somewhat similar. We were told to limit contact unless we were in full PPE. I suspect that's the same here. Regardless, I still like to see an effort made from my fellow Activity Professionals to at least mingle with guests. Since Joff will be my CD on my next cruise, it will be interesting to see if he mingles on smaller ships or if it's the same protocols.

Music Hall

4 out of 5

This was my favorite venue. There was more than enough space for everyone. If I had to make one suggestion it would be to add a ladies room closer to the venue on Deck 3. Currently, the closest ladies room is halfway through the casino.

North Star

5 out of 5

This was way better than I thought it would be! I got great panorama pictures! This is a must, especially in port!

Service and Staff

Excellent all around!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Impeccable

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We had 2 tall folks with us, we could have used an extra foot or so in the cabin.

Ship tip

Just enjoy! You're on a cruise and so many people would kill to be where you are. Appreciate every second of it.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Much smoother than Embarkation however they said all tags were called and ours wasnt.
