Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food at all the venues was excellent! From the Windjammer to the Main dining area to Coco Cay we always had fresh, delicious food.

Chops Grille

5 out of 5

Had Chop’s Grille for lunch. Everything was delicious and served piping hot. My husband is a vegetarian and they actually brought him a plate with sides and bowl of mushroom pasta from Jamie’s so that he had a great lunch too.

Jamie's Italian

5 out of 5

Jaime’s was so delicious! Everything we had was made fresh and had great flavor. Even my husband said the eggplant parm was good and he is very picky about eggplant parm. Service was outstanding.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Fitness center was very clean and since our ship was at 75% capacity, I never had a problem getting an available elliptical or treadmill. As with most cruise ships though, the saving of loungers at the pools is still annoying and is never enforced.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We saw Spectra’s Cabaret in the Two70 complex. The use of technology and lighting made for a pretty cool show. Spectra’s Cabaret was very different and eclectic and not for everyone, but I really enjoyed it. We also saw We Will Rock You in the Theater. It was a high energy show featuring the songs of Queen. It was well done and truly enjoyable. Just make a note that this show really isn’t for children under age 13.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone we encountered was pleasant and helpful. They are all truly glad to have their jobs back and it was quite evident.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship is much larger than what I am used to cruising on, so it was a bit of a learning curve. I did love that the smoky casino was in the bottom ship. Was not a fan of the Royal Esplanade. Shops were pretty pricy and it’s not like the Royal Promenade on other ships. For me, I think it was lack of brighter lighting. It seemed dark and disjointed.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We had connecting balcony staterooms with our sons so it was great. The rooms were far more spacious than what we are used to and were super clean. My only complaint is the mattress was so hard! I felt like was sleeping on a concrete slab. I did ask our room steward for a mattress topper/cushion for me and he did. It helped somewhat.

Ship tip

The ship is big. On embarkation day make sure you do the rounds and get a good feel for the ship.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
They used facial recognition technology in Customs on arrival in the port building, so disembarkation was a breeze. We also took our own luggage off the ship, so that made our departure even faster. We pretty much were able to walk off the ship at any time because we did that. We left the ship at 8am.
