Embarkation

We were dropped off in front of the terminal and our luggage was taken and we were directed to the inside area. We moved through the lines quickly and we were soon on the ship!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The Windjammer was our breakfast choice and most lunches. We also te at the Solarium Bistro and found that to be very good as well. Our evening meals were in one of the main dining rooms. The food was great and the opportunity of trying new things was fun. Never a bad meal!!!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Pools, and the fitness center were our main areas of use while on the ship. We shopped and visited the Schooner Bar and enjoyed the piano bar. A few game shows and outdoor movies in the evening were also available. We had no children with us so those types of activities were not used.

Entertainment

We Will Rock You was fantastic, however that was the third time I had seen it. This was my third cruise on Anthem, each with different people, so I saw the show 3 times. My only suggestion of all would be to rotate the shows amongst the ships in each class. I happen to love the Anthem and have also been on Mariner which is smaller. I prefer the larger ship. It would be nice for the repeat cruisers to be able to see different shows.

Service and Staff

Everyone was very friendly and always eager to help. I have never seen so many delightfully happy staff members-many smiles!

Cabin / Stateroom

This cabin was spotless! It was well lit and welcoming. Plenty of hangers and closet space and ample drawer space. The bathroom was a good size with several glass shelves near the sink, counterspace and a comfortable sized shower. The balcony provided an area to sit and watch the world go by and relax!

Ship tip

When booking ship activities, don't forget to place reservations for any of the specialty restaurants. They fill up quick!

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

The port was easy to get to and easily navigated through the check in process.

King's Wharf, Bermuda

We did not do an excursion as we just wanted to wander and do some shopping! Cute stores and enjoyed the people. No pressure from store personnel. On the second day we took a bus to Horse Shoe Bay Beach. Bus driver gave a nice presentation on the island and it was very informative. When we got to the beach, we rented 2 chairs and an umbrella and settled in for a few hours. The beach was pretty and the rock formations in the water were beautiful. However, a bit disappointed that we didn't see any pink sand.

Disembarkation

Although we were assigned an early time, we stayed on as long as possible as our transportation home was not going to be able to pick us up any earlier and that was fine that we changed our time. Easy to get off the ship and find our luggage and a breeze through customs.
