Review summary

Not sure I'd cruise again from the northern US to the south in the "spring" but it was a great cruise outside of weather and finding out our day at Coco Cay was being canceled and rerouted to Miami. Wasn't happy that RCL chose to lie to us and say the pier wasn't ready when in reality the pier wasn't supposed to be ready. At the end of the day the overall cruise was good but I signed up for a Bahama's cruise and ended up getting a southern FL cruise. Not what I paid for and couple that with RCL's decision to not be honest as to why they took our day at Coco Cay away I'm hesitant to choose RCL again.

Embarkation

Wonderful embarkation process. Line moved swiftly and from start to finish took less than 10 minutes to get through check-in and security.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food quality has deteriorated on RCL. Some nights were amazing and some nights left us wondering what happened to their quality of food. The choices, I felt, were lacking also. Service was hit or miss, some wait staff were attentive and wonderful, while others needed some serious retraining.

Our daughter always loves the Adventure Ocean crew and this one did not disappoint!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship is definitely showing some wear and tear but overall it's a great ship. Just some chairs with rips on them that I found surprising given what I thought were RCL's standards.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Decent cabin, however there are a fair amount of noises, particuallary at night. Not sure what the noise was coming from but it sounded like the largest ice machine in the world dumping hundreds of pounds of ice repeatedly. Only happened a few nights on the ship and truthfully if you're a solid sleeper it won't even bother you but if you have trouble sleeping avoid this area. The beds are hard as a rock though so be prepared if you don't like a firm mattress. As for location of the cabin it was perfect! Right around the corner from the casino and one floor up was the main theater and then promenade and main dining room.

We were on the same cruise with very similar experiences as you!

We were on the same cruise and felt exactly the same. Apparently it was only our cruise that was diverted as I just checked and the ship is in Coco Cay today.

Thanks for your review. Many are upset with RC over this. I want to go to Coco Cay, but would never go to anything brand new, as it is never ready on time. That would be the same with any cruise line. Give RC another try; we were on the Anthem last September and loved it! Blessed cruise! Joy
