Cruising is a great way to get away from stress of work. Not so much if you are not working. Considering the extra money for shore excursions, consider a beach or mountain location if you don't want to explore. You can relax anywhere. I thought it rude of cruisers to sleep on the deck chairs. Took up a place for someone who wanted to stash their gear while in the pool or hot tub, or wanted to partake of the view off the ship. Sleep in your room to allow for turnover of chairs.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Pretty good for getting 4500+ people on board.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Main Dining room was great. Loved they had a limited menu selection. Made choosing really easy. Looked forward to great pastries, but they were not soft, and chewy.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Maybe too many to choose from. However, there was something for everyone, even if I didn't like them all.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Shows were very entertaining and we enjoyed sitting in from for most. Of course, had to be there half hour early to do that.
Children's Programs
We had no children with us on this trip.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
From dining room to cabin service, they knew how, and did take very good care of their guests. Could have cleared dishes in the buffet a little more quickly.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Kept clean at all times. Quite a feet, considering the size of the ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Adequate size. Comfortable bed. Spent most of our time out of the cabin.
Ship tip
Out of Bayonne, you have plenty of time to do all the shipboard activities. Don't miss them.
Easy unload to embark and easy out to debark. Some of our group's luggage did not make it to proper location on debarkation. Make sure your debarkation tag is secure on your luggage.
Again, no excursion, not much to see. Unless you drink or want to spend extra for food, there is not much outside the dock shopping area. And the merchants are pushy.
I feel it's fine to sleep and relax on the deck chairs. After all, you go on a cruise ship to decompress. However, the real concern is the Chair Hogs who throw down a towel and don't return for several hours.
