Review summary

Anthem of the Seas is a beautiful ship, with great shows and entertainment, and the staff give great service! We could definitely see ourselves on this ship again!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Only a few people in line ahead of us and we went through quickly!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Our favorite was Jamie's Italian. The food there was astoundingly delicious! The staff in the main dining rooms were attentive and the food was excellent. The buffets (Windjammer and Solarium Bistro) had plenty of variety and the areas was kept clean.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We got our reservations in Two70 right as we arrived, and booked iFly and North Star. iFly was super fun! The ship looked extra impressive 300 feet up on North Star! The rock climbing wall was fun but much shorter than on the Oasis class ships. The fitness centre was well used in the early mornings and had dumbbells and great machines...also saw a yoga class going on! We didn't use the pools as there was so much else to do, but we used the jacuzzi which was relaxing in the adult -only area.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment is world class! We got to see The Gift, We Will Rock You, and a group called Impact. The comedian was funny with clean humor.

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We were treated like royalty! The waiters were so attentive and cheerful. Our room steward cleaned our room twice daily and always gave us a kind smile and greeting. All the other staff on the ship were friendly and very helpful. It was very apparent that customer service is a priority for them. I truly felt well served by all the staff.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The artwork throughout Anthem of the Seas was beautiful and whimsical. Often we would stop to look at the artwork! The layout of the ship was efficient. Lots of elevators but we tried to use the stairs most of the time to burn a few extra calories! Everything was kept very clean and appeared well maintained. It felt like we were on a brand new ship!!!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
For two people we had more than enough space to conveniently store everything away. The balcony was a good size for chatting and the chairs and ottomans were comfortable. Our cabin steward kept our room very clean. The fridge was a little loud and didn't have the option to turn it off or even down, but we got used to it eventually.

Ship tip

Take time to enjoy the beautiful artwork, especially as some of the pieces are interactive!

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

5 out of 5
Process in and out of the port was efficient.

King's Wharf, Bermuda

5 out of 5
The people working at King's Wharf were helpful in getting our shuttle service to Horseshoe Bay and the next day a taxi service (for a tour of the island). The souvenir shops were convenient. The entry to the museum closed at 4pm on our first day so a few of us missed that opportunity.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
There seemed to be quite a few people who did self-carry. We had a nice breakfast and coffee and waited until our number was called. They seemed to be a little behind (perhaps by 15 minutes or so) but we weren't in a rush.
