Review summary

I am so glad that my very 1st cruise was with Royal Caribbean because my experience on the Anthem of the Seas was excellent. I am a Royal Caribbean Cruise Line fan forever and now I want my whole family to experience a Royal Caribbean Cruise. Look out Harmony of the Seas, you are next.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
I was expecting a long wait in a long line but Royal Caribbean’s process was quick and easy. Boarding was equally as quick. I am so glad we had no wait at all.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There are so many on board activities to take advantage of that we could hardly make up our minds. The pools are awesome, the outdoor movie was great.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
OMG, I can’t say enough about the stage shows, they are absolutely amazing. We saw three shows, they were all spectacular. The Djs and all other performers in the clubs and on the pool decks were awesome.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff and service were incredible. I have never been around so many very nice and very helpful people. They made the cruise experience special.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This ship is absolutely beautiful and soooo clean. I worried a little about the cleanliness but once on board all worries were put to rest.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was great, we had an inside cabin with a virtual view so I felt like we had an outside cabin. It was quite big with twin beds. Very clean, lots of closet space and a refrigerator. I loved our cabin.

Ship tip

Take a look online before you go on your cruise and try to plan out what activities you want to do because there are so many choices and you won’t want to miss anything.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

This is where we embarked and disembarked and it was great.

King's Wharf, Bermuda

5 out of 5
Two night before our cruise we received word that our scheduled cruise to King’s Wharf, Bermuda was canceled and the ship was being rerouted due to the hurricane. We were rerouted to Portland, Maine and Halifax, Nova Scotia. We had an amazing time in each port. It was beautiful and very relaxing, I just wish we had more time in each place.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The process was easy and quick thanks to the staff and crew giving great instructions and making sure we had everything we needed to make the process go smoothly.

My first cruise was with RCL in 1997 and I really enjoyed it. I am looking forward to seeing how cruising has changed and what cruising with a family is like 20 years later.

My first cruise was with Royal on the Explorer out of NJ. It was fantastic. Been loyal to Royal ever since. Went on the Anthem in 2016 & Liberty 2015 out of NJ too.

So nice your first cruise on RCCL was so satisfying for you. I expect the excitement you experienced will be multiplied many times over when your family joins you on your next cruise.
