Review summary

As I said, if you have sailed with Celebrity and liked it, this line is not for you. NO welcome drink, bathrobe, room service for early morning coffee, or small amenities like body lotion etc. Additionally, there were no hamburger/hot dog grill bars near the pool. Only Johnny Rockets where you pay full price. Elevators were terrible.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Food was very ordinary. Full charge at specialty restaurants, not just cover charge. Main dining room offers some selections for an added charge. Fruit and vegetables were fresh and very good.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
If you are not going to participate in rock climbing, water rides, pinball etc. there is little for you to do. Also, many activities require a substantial extra charge.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
One show was cancelled and never rescheduled. The other show was something I saw on another cruise line. On other cruise lines there are shows every night. Not so here. Lounge entertainment was poor. In the Schooner Lounge, it was terribly obvious to the untrained ear that the piano was in desperate need of tuning.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Ship personnel were wonderful. Tried to please. Pleasant and helpful.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Beds are too close together. Room was ample in size. Lighting by the mirror is very poor. Perhaps rearranging the room so the vanity is closer to the balcony would help.

Ship tip

Don't go. There are better ships out there.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

Make sure you have at least an hour and a half to get off the ship.

Just to clarify something. Celebrity is actually owned by Royal Caribbean... All of what you mentioned is actually included within different packages. May I suggest next time doing a little research? Yes? Long story short, if the price is less, you get less, and vice versa...

If you are atinum or higher you can have a robe in your room,we have always been able to have our ciffee delivered in the morning along with my shot of baileys to go in it! I think you should stay with celebrity!!!

I can understand trying different ship/line and different itinieries, but you WILL find differences from the line you normal cruise. Nothing was better on this ship? If not, you really should stay on Celebrity.

Luckily last Anthem cruise had free room service but no longer. same as NCL, will miss that with a balcony room. bathrobes are available on Anthem, just as and they deliver to your room. hotdogs can be found at the seaplex on Anthem. plus you can find hamburgers most times at the windjammer. was able to save over 600.00 booking Anthem over Celebrity for the same cruise. now that a difference i enjoyed......
