Review summary
Cabin was larger than I expected, very nice. Unfortunately that's about all that I found very pleasing. We found the crew mostly unfriendly. You see employees and walk up to them and want to ask a question and they barely acknowledge you. The other problem seemed to be that most employees we encountered did not have a good grasp of English. I like that the crew is from all over the world, but speaking and understanding English is important.
The food on the ship was also mediocre at best. We had Anytime Dining, and figuring out which restaurants we were allowed to eat in was confusing. We asked three different crew members and got three different answers. Meals took over two hours, food was mostly served lukewarm or cold. In one case my dessert was served on a plate so hot that it was just a mess. When I tried to explain to the manager that the plate was hot and melting my dessert he got me another one, exactly the same. Our waiter for a few nights was wonderful, Oslar. He tried his hardest, but when the fish comes over cooked, and replacement is just as bad what can he do? We ate in the Solarium Grill, we both ordered skirt steak, both were inedible. We asked the waiter what kind of steak it was because it did not look like skirt steak, he did not know. He saw the meat was covered with what he called muscle. Whatever it was it was not good.
We spoke with a lot of people on the cruise, asking them their opinion of the cruise. Everyone, and I mean everyone said more or less the same thing. The quaility was not even close to Oasis, which quite a few people had been on and that they were disappointed all around.
We thought it was just us, our first cruise, expecting too much, but other people felt the same way.
We did enjoy the three shows we saw. Excellent productions.
Our cabin steward, Jerrimee was also excellent.
All in all, we felt like we were at a bad wedding reception for 5 nights.
🙁

Ship tip
Check out all the upcharges that seem to lurk everywhere. We figure we paid approx. $200 a person, per day to be on this ship. Then if you wanted let's say a club soda, you were charged $4.50. Absolutely ridiculous. Upcharges for better meals. This vacation was definitely not my favorite.
