Review summary

This ship had something missing ..from day one my family and I felt

it. The way it's designed , the unfriendly staff, the crowdness , the taste of food,

uncleanless ... We had to wait for half an hour to find a table for breakfast ...the pool area sitting area had Icecream on table..we had to ask twice for it to be cleaned .. Soft drinks aren't free u had to pay for a cruise cup to get drinks

the pool area had one fast food place (Johnny rocket) and it was also with a fee.,

its too much !!!!!!! The kids area .. Lines to the bumping cars ..Xbox etc

overall kids hated this ship ..we were counting the days for our arrival

Exactly correct. Don't worry about bad reviews. You will enjoy yourself tremendously if you go with positive attitude. Don't see how you can possibly have a bad time on this glorious ship. You just can't please some people.

Glad to hear this SuePitz. I'll be boarding in 45 days and am looking forward to it! Trying to ignore all the negative reviews , and just have a great cruise. It definitely is what you make of it! And I intend to make it fun, fun, fun!!!!!

I loved Athem. To each his own I guess. If you don't like lines, I would suggest you go on a smaller ship with less people. I give Anthem five stars. Did not encounter any unfriendly staff. I don't care about the bad reviews. A vacation is what YOU make it. This was our best cruise by far.

This ship isn't the best way to guage a first experience on Royal but honestly a cruise is what you make it. This ship is extremely automated and as such lacks in service that you will find on other Royal Caribbean ships. Some people like larger ships some like smaller. This ship is in between and the key to fully enjoying it is by pressing planning everything before you board. If the online site doesn't work, get on the phone and they will gladly assist you. Have a great cruise.

I am leaving on Nov 10 on this ship I have been on 15 cruises but never Royal. And if you have ever traveled on MSC you would know what unfriendly staff is they didn't even speak ANY English very rude. It looks like a great ship.

There is no ship that brings out such range of reviews than Anthem. It is love or hate. We had to book it just to find out ourselves so I will know myself in four months. We haven't had a bad cruise yet but not all have been five stars, which is fine. Vacations are what you make of them.

I've been hearing allot about unfriendly staff on board this ship. Though I agree people will complain about anything and everything, this seems to be a very common complaint here. Not something I would ignore if I was booking this cruise.

This conversation resides me of the routine where somebody walks into a restaurant with a roach. We loved the ship. No complaints.

Lol people will complain about anything. The ship was spotless, the most friendly staff I've ever encountered and never waited once for a table lol. This is my new favorite ship!!! I would said her every year if I could. People just look for the negatives. The ship was flawless

The buffet is free and right near the pools. You did not have to go to Johnny Rockets. Chic had a nice sit down lunch. Sodas cost extra on most cruise lines. Disney might be free but their cruises are expensive. Agree the ship gets crowded but the staff was great. We found the Anthem to be exceptionally clean so I guess it is just the luck of the draw...

You have to go to breakfast early otherwise the Windjammer is mobbed. There are several other places to get breakfast; the Solarium Bistro on deck 14, The American Icon restaurant, Cafe Promenade and 270 Lounge.

I felt that way on the Oasis. Too many passengers to seat on sea days in these restaurants. Too many passengers to get that comfortable feeling. Staff acted like it was your job to entertain yourself.
