AmaSerena overview

OVERVIEW AmaSerena is a regal river ship accommodating both guests who wish to socialize with kindred cruisers and those seeking private rejuvenation. Twin-balcony staterooms maximize scenic views with amenities that include Entertainment-On-Demand, unlimited Wi-Fi, movies, music and more. Vivid brush strokes on the duvets give local color new life, while sophisticated white marbled bathrooms offer a clean canvas. When it’s time to step out, guests can choose a quiet respite in the inviting library or head to the Main Lounge for cocktails and conversation. Both venues are designed with fabrics in rich reds that call to mind full-bodied Merlots. For a bit of whimsy, the Sun Deck boasts a giant chess set, or you can take a dip in the refreshing pool. As a member of La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, the exclusive international culinary society, AmaSerena also offers exquisite, locally-sourced cuisine in the Main Restaurant or at The Chef’s Table.

The Perfect Romantic Danube River Cruise by diandavbarnes

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: AmaSerena / Destination: River Cruises - Europe

We did the add on of Prague prior to the cruise and we would HIGHLY recommend to other travelers. This was a beautiful city with lots to do. We stayed at the Cosmopolitan which AMA recommended and it was perfect!

i found the hair dryer outdated, very slow.... almost blew up captain night... it was mentioned that only a few were selected to sit with the captain which is understandable.... however, i don't believe that needed to be announced.... invite whomever you wish, no need to make the rest of the guest not as special. staff /crew were excellent..... friendly and always eager to help..... tips should have gone directly to them...... to the ones that served you....

Good Value, but could use some tweaks by jgolden201

Good to very good overall...would have preferred more actual sailing...some days sailed in AM and too much land tour/tours squeezed in, that stretched into late PM.  Result was rushed dinner to participate in PM tour.  Should try to expand scope of land tours--I have seen enough churches and castles to last 3 lifetimes! Times posted for meals were strictly adhered to.  Food was usually cleared by closing time--no latitude. However quality of food was good to very good.  All personnel always had a smile on their face and were quick w/ a cheerful greeting throughout the cruise...

There a multiple stairs which may be challenging to travelers with difficulties climbing. The popularity of the Danube requires ship to double tie which proved fine for the bottom cabins but was unpopular with those who had balconies on the main floor. There is very little privacy when docked.

I would have appreciated an occasional coke away from meals but that is a very minor issue. The ship was very comfortable and enjoyable to be aboard.

Although we really enjoyed the cruise, it was drastically noisier then I expected at night. Going through all of those locks on the Danube was noisy. If you are a light sleeper, I would suggest a different cruise
