EXCELLENT by Cruiser80404274

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: AmaDagio / Destination: River Cruises - Europe

My wife, Luana, and I love wine, so naturally it was the main reason for our trip with Ama Waterways Rhone River Cruise.  The food and service onboard was excellent.  Your guest artist entertainment was most enjoyable and fitting to the occasion. The excursion offerings were great. There were so many wonderful choices of side trips it was difficult to make a selection. Everyone of your travel guides were professional, knowledgeable and entertaining.Your ground transportation operation is first class, impeccable, and a competent driver maneuvering us safely thru some daunting roadways. Luana loved the shopping and actually found good deals and was very happy with her gift shopping. We enjoyed the restaurants, the museums, the architecture, the historical walks, the farmers markets and side walk art shows.

I tell my family and friends, Luana and I enjoyed this Ama Waterways River Cruise so much, we are now only considering river cruising for our future travels.

Nice cruise by Cruiser81942447

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: AmaDagio / Destination: River Cruises - Europe

I enjoyed the organization of the tours and the personal care of the staff. The entire experience had a family fell which I loved.  The cruise director, Camille, was very helpful in handling problems I had.  A truly fun experience.

Have more food (cooking) event tours.

Beautiful country by wilhelmusta

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: AmaDagio / Destination: River Cruises - Europe

Excursions--Monserrat, Arles, Les Baux, Avignon, Truffle farm, olive farm, historic Roman sites--all charming.

Better lighting, drawers, better storage for clothes in cabins would be nice (but the ship is being replaced).

Food outstanding.

Cities--Barcelona, Lyon, Paris--colorful, entertaining, and exciting.

Overall, a great experience for our 50th anniversary.

Impeccable service and attention to detail. by Cruiser392

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: AmaDagio / Destination: Europe

We can't say enough about the level of service we experienced on our river cruise. We were pleasantly surprised over and over again, everything from the comfort of the cabin to the exceptional quality and variety of the food and wine served.  The excursions were interesting and well planned. Everything seemed designed to enhance the guest experience. Well done!

Excellent cruise but if it's a scenic cruise your looking for this is not the one. by jorgelvnv

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: AmaDagio / Destination: Europe

We took a 13 day package that included 3 days in Paris, 7 days cruising on the Amadagio and three days in Barcelona. Paris is Paris and there's a lot to see and visit and you'll never see it all but Barcelona was fantastic and enjoyable. A lot of history in these two major cities, let alone the stops on the way to Barcelona.

Ship, crew personnel, attention to detail was top notch. Food was great but not excellent. Meals included different wines every evening and made this part of the dining experience very good. Attention at the Chef's Table Restaurant is something to look forward to - don't miss out. Excursions every day with sometimes 2 or 3 to choose from and at no additional cost.

My negatives, If your looking for a scenic cruise to enjoy while cruising down the river and looking out via your French Balcony - this isn't the cruise for that. The scenery was barely there or not that great. After a while looking at vineyards and open grounds isn't something I will look forward to in the future.

Overall the cruise was good and I would do it again with Ama Waterways but a totally different cruise experience (most likely down the Danube or Rhine or maybe Amsterdam).

Wow Moments by bigkahuna

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

The sad news is that this was the Ama Dagio's last sailing.  We escorted 28 family and friends on this wonderful AMA adventure on the Rhone river.  It all started with a fabulous CAVA tasting with Tapas lunch at Pere Ventura winery in Barcelona.  A must do event.  The river cruise, with AMA's "This is your home" attitude could not have been better, even with the strike by the French Lock keepers.  Camille, our cruise director & her staff never missed a step in getting all of us through the crises.  The food, wine,Happy  entertainment, and excursions were all first class and better.  We are planning our next 2017 cruise with AMA.  Can't wait.

Best trip ever! by Cruiser525

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: AmaDagio / Destination: River Cruises - Europe

We booked the Wine Cruise, then book-ended the cruise with Barcelona and Paris. Two weeks of heaven. On-board I found the staff happy, friendly and always willing to help. They make you feel like family. The food was fabulous. (perhaps add more vegetarian options for dinner).

When the itinerary stated "Departing at 5:00pm" - they were on the dot. The precision timing of everything related to the cruise was amazing.

I loved that the ship only holds 150 passengers. Much more intimate than the big cruise ships. So much more civilized. I am definitely considering another trip on AmaWaterways. Very impressive.
