We sailed out of Gavelston, TX around the time of the opening of the new Royal Caribbean terminal. We had a 10:30 am boarding time and arrived around 10 am. While attempting to board they were telling everyone to get in one line. The line was extremely long and I was attempting to explain to them that we had a 10:30 am boarding time and he wouldn’t listen. He told our family boarding times don’t matter get in the back of the line. The issue was my in laws were renewing their vows on the ship and we needed to get on early which is why we got the early time. While we were walking back we saw him let a couple ladies enter. So we asked why they were allowed to go ahead and we were told to go to the back of the line. He explained they were suite guest. We explained that we were suite guests as well and he rudely asked to see our boarding passes. Then he said why didn’t we say that so I asked why did you assume we weren’t and never mentioned that if we were suite guests we could board. Other than that embarking was a breeze.

Our kids truly enjoyed AO. They constantly asked if they could return. They made friends and loved the staff.

In the world of ships getting bigger and bigger Adventure seemed to be the perfect size for us. I would love to see a more modern version developed in the near future equipped with all the bells and whistles.

Ship tip

If you are on the ship during football season get to whatever venue that is playing the game early. Cowboys were playing Green Bay while we were on board and the Cowboy fans had literally taken over the place and hogged up all the seats.
