This RC cruise up the Coast was worth doing again!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Royal Caribbean had everything organized and had plenty of staff on hand to help and keep things moving. It was an impressive start!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
While we selected the most basic offering for everything, we never felt cheated at The Windjammer Buffet. There was a variety of delicious cuisines provided throughout the cruise. Also, having folks wash their hands upon entry was a relief.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
If you got bored on Adventures of the Sea, then it was your own fault. Between delicious meals, walking, checking out the different decks, going to shows, playing Bingo, having a manicure, and enjoying a full day exploring Halifax, there wasn’t much time to spare. It was great!
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The ice skating show had loads of great music, costumes, and skillful skating. We enjoyed the terrific show and thought it was a unique thing to have on a ship.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
While all the staff was welcoming and “with it,” no one could top our room attendant, Khutut. He just somehow knew what we needed and he helped us out.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
While the ship is showing some wear, the staff was keeping everything nice and tidy.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Overall, the cabin was tidy and kept clean throughout our stay but the furniture is showing signs of wear. The couch is made of cardboard, or something not so stable. It often popped and made strange sounds when you’d sit on it or move to get up. The balcony was one of the most enjoyable parts of the entire cruise.
Ship tip
If your tummy gets a little upset with the movement of the boat, there is a coke/vending machine in the spa/gym area that sells cold canned ginger ale and cola. For some reason it seemed hard to find cold canned drinks in the bars and the cooler in the room take forever to cool down a hot drink.
The pier area requires a lot of walking. The best part of the pier was actually the farmer’s market where we got off our cruise ship. There were plenty of handcrafted gifts and souvenirs available. There’s an ATM in the back of the bicycle restaurant where you can get Canadian currency for tips or shopping. We ended up using Uber and the public ferry to get around. We went to an old fishing village with little shops and a restaurant with fresh seafood. It was delicious!
We had an early flight and we’re worried about getting off the boat, having transportation, and getting to the airport in time for check-in. We went to the guest services desk and were placed with the first group for disembarkation. No problems.
