Review summary

This 4 night cruise was just what we needed for a quick get away. It was a wonderful break, wish I had booked back to back.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Wow! I can't say enough about the embarkation day! Super fast! I love that it is so much better than stand in a giant room full of people!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was good in the dining room. Not the best that I have had with RCCL, but good. The Specialty restraunts really did make up for what the dining room lacked. The Windjammer, always seemed to have a good variety for lunch and dinner. Not as much on breakfasts. Omelets were a 20+ min wait. The dining room was much faster on breakfast if you want to order this. The coffee shop always had hot pizza and cold wraps, sandwiches and anti pasta sides. The Lemonaide and punch here were always watered down and not changed out or refreshed very often. A lady asked her daughter if she wanted punch or water. The little girl said, it doesn't matter, the punch tastes ike water. She was about 4 or 5...lol.

Cafe Promenade

Coffee was aways hot. Lemon Aid and punch always watered down from the ice. Flavored water really. Wraps and Sandwiches were super tasty! Anti pasta was fresh and also tasty!

Duck & Dog Pub

5 out of 5

This was a great place to sit and listen to music. They specialize in Classic drinks.

Champagne Bar

5 out of 5

A great place to sit and listen to music.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We watched people ride the waves and that was really fun. We didn't go on the slides, but children seemed to enjoy them. We did go to many games and trivia. We didn't win but we did have fun participating and watching.

Boutiques

4 out of 5

Items here are pricey, but no taxes. If you look closely, you will find a clearance section off to the side in the back. You might find some really good bargains.

Guest Services and Explorations!

5 out of 5

We did not use the explorations desk; chosing to go out on our own. We did use the Services desk many times. They were always so nice and helpful.

Gift Shop

5 out of 5

There is a little bit of everything for everyone here. They run sales through out the cruise, but really deeper discounts toward the end of the cruise.

Day Spa and Fitness Center

4 out of 5

We didn't use the services, but there is a Sauna and Steam Room. Both Are located in the Restroom/Locker Room. Spa towels are located here as well. If you need a lock for your locker, they have them at the Spa desk.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Music! There is music every where on the ship. I love RCCL for this! Jazz, Piano, 50-70's, country, current, carribean, you name it and some where on any day they are playing it. We saw a comedian, he was a little funny but he made political and jokes agains women, so he lost us there. The Ice Show was spectacular! It amazes us that the performers can do their skaing and tricks on a moving ice rink. My daughter was amazed that it was actually ice! The belly flop constest was a hoot!

Library

3 out of 5

Well, there really isn't a library per say anymore. But they are calling it a card room. It is a nice quiet place to go and read or play card games. I do wish these rooms had a view of the ocean, but every one I have seen is on the interior.

Children's Programs

I did not bring a child onboard

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff is amazing! Room attendant, front desk, wait staff, and security! We happened to lose an Iphone and a expensive bracelet onboard. Security helped us recover the phone, but we could not locate the bracelet. They went above and beyond to help us locate it. The wait staff was very attentive and always knew our names. We learned alot about India and some wonderful places to visit! very exciting!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship's layout made it super easy to get around. It was always clean. I woke up at 3am one morning and went out to see what happens at this hour. The crew was so busy! restocking, cleaning, sanitizing and they fumigated the hallways and common areas every night.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was an inside cabin. It was comfortable and had everything we would need. They provide shampoo and soap bars, hair dryer. You will need to bring conditioner. When we arrived the beds were together; curious when we were mother and daughter, but the attendant seperated them when we asked. We also requested bath robes and the attendant was quick with our request as well.

Ship tip

They have an option of using your phone for the daily compass (planner) but it made it very easy for people to lose their phones on the ship since they were using them all the time. I personaly like to unplug and not have to use my phone. On the other hand for just a few dollars a day you can turn your phone into a messenger with your chilren or sailing party on board. That is really nice if you need to use it. One more thing! Pack light! Mix and match. You can park within walking distance and just roll your luggage to your car.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

4 out of 5
We did not do an excursion at this port, we are from Texas and like to go to Galveston each year. The water may not be the prettiest, but there are many fun things to do and walking on the beach is always great.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
I have lived in Mexico and Cozumel is very touristic, however there are many places to go for beach breaks. We live to go to the state park Chakanaab. They have many exibits on Mayan history, Swim with the Dolphons, Manatees, a Sea Lion show, Scuba and Snorkel and Massage. The drinks are strong and average about 6.00, the Guac is fresh and tasty! The buffet is just okay, but it is hot and it is food... mexican and hambers and hot dogs.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Super fast and easy. I chose a parking area that was close and just walked to the car.
