We loved Adventure of the Seas! We appreciated the size of the ship, because we seem to enjoy the mid sized ones as opposed to the Oasis class ( to be fair, we have not sailed one of the larger ships to date).
We loved everything about the ship, and everything about the staff and service. We have no complaints!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was a bit more chaotic at this port than others (and I really wish they had valet parking!), but once we understood the process of dropping off luggage, and then parking in an adjacent building, then returning on a shuttle, it went smoothly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We had great food in the MDR. Because of that, we never check out the specialty restaurants, but that’s just our preference.
The Windjammer has “ok” food. It’s always plentiful, and there is always lots of selection, but it is typical buffet type food, so it’s not great, but it certainly fills the void.
We really enjoyed the Champagne Bar! There is no food available there, but the drinks, and quality of service was second to none!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We enjoyed the solarium (adult only) pool. We also tried out the sports courts, mini golf, and water slides. Lots of fun!
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Games and shows were fun. Main theatre shows were good - not excellent, but definitely good entertainment!
Piano man in the Schooner Bar was the best on board entertainment we have ever experienced!!!
Children's Programs
Did not travel with children.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Service was fantastic!
Sherwyn, our cabin steward, was amazing. On day one, he knew every persons name, and greeted us by name, with a smile. His service was exemplary, and we couldn’t ask for anything more.
We loved the Champagne Bar, and we usually had three servers there, Vaya, Stefan, and Louis. They were all fantastic!
Finally, our main dining room servers were outstanding, as always. Ronnie and Arico always provides prompt, friendly, and entertaining service in the MDR!!
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship is starting to get a bit dated - and I understand it’s going into dry dock soon, but that said, we had no complaints. Everything was clean, including bathrooms, pool area, our room, and every venue we visited.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Spacious enough for 2 people, and very convenient location to the stairs/elevators.
It’s also on a little jut-our, which made us feel like we always had a great view!
Maho Beach experience was interesting, but now that we’ve knocked it off our bucket list, we wouldn’t do it again. It is a very busy beach, and very narrow. We visited the Sunset Grill restaurant, and had some OK food, with some delicious drinks. Maho it’s definitely worth seeing, but next time, if we were to go back to the island, we would have stopped at one of the other beaches that were less busy and more beautiful.
We took a scenic train ride around the island, and found it to be very interesting, and beautiful. The locals were very friendly, and it was a great way to see a lot of the island in a short period of time.
Very chaotic and long lines. My parents were travelling with us, and my dad has very limited mobility, so even with all the chaos, there was someone who was able to help us maneuver the lines more efficiently. That was very appreciated.
