Voyage to SouthAfrica Nov19 by sefton

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Orchestra / Destination: World Cruise

Overall I was disappointed with the MSC Quality but my main issues were in the ships communication skills to clients which was very poor. Excursions very expensive and lack of knowledge and information from the excursion department left a lot to be desired. Excursion staff lack leadership and organisation attributes and at times were dismissive and rude. Waiters and Bar Staff were very engaging and polite but guest services are on the defensive as soon as you speak to them about anything and their internal communication skills between departments leaves a lot to be desired. This was my first cruise with MSC mainly due to the locations the ship was visiting but in future I would seriously reassess any cruises I would take where MSC are concerned. I have enjoyed far better quality and MSCs reputation of “The Ryan Air” of cruising seems to me to be appropriate. There was no facility on the cabin TV to view my bill hence the requirement to visit Guest Services every few days to obtain a printed copy of my updated statement to ensure my bill was correct. Pre Paid gratuities were also added to my bill and no explanation was forthcoming from Guest Services as to why they had done this even though I had already paid. If I had not pointed this out they would have expected double payment from me.

Northern Europe is so beautiful by dbtaylor71

Ship: Amsterdam / Destination: World Cruise

Airline, airport service by HA was super! Good start in Amsterdam. Enjoyed special Rembrandt show, thank you HA. N Europe was a wonderful segment (and where my family came from). All aspects of my 22 days were great --except off loading. Donna Taylor

Nightmare 6 weeks by Offcruising

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Arcadia / Destination: Worldwide

From start to finish the western navigation was doomed. We had technical problems which meant an overnight stay in Southampton, where I live! Within 2 days I had caught everyone’s cough after 5 days, I went to the doctor onboard whilst we were in port, Madeira. I was too unwell to get off. He diagnosed pneumonia! I was shocked. I’m very healthy. So I had 11 boring sea days, I don’t sunbathe, until St Lucia. If you like to knit and natter or do endless quizzes or play bridge, then this ship is for you. My husband became very ill from bad prawns consumed from the buffet. He had to have IV steroids for 2 days. We missed a number of ports because of bad weather. The food was disgusting. Never ever again with P&O

Mixed Feelings by Jemathomp

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Insignia / Destination: World Cruise

We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and we did it in style. We met some great people and saw a part of the world that was new to us. We saw beautiful people and extreme poverty conditions. An eye opener. We were onboard for 35 days. A bit long because of the number of sea days and missed ports. That was so disappointing. Overall a very good trip.

Wonderfull World Cruise but much better after 3 weeks when they changed our cabin to get away from the noise. by janwal

Ship: Sea Princess / Destination: Worldwide

World Cruise of 102 days departing from Melbourne and arriving in Sydney after circumnavigating the world. Worth doing to see so many ports and make lots of new friends. Most people on the ship were from Australia and New Zealand. Many did the full round trip.

ABANDONED SHIP AFTER 5 OF 22 NIGHTS by Sherry49

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: World Cruise

We recently paid a huge some of money for a supposed "5-star cruise" on the Queen Mary 2 from Cape Town to Sydney....What a disappointment, what a nightmare. The cabin shook so violently that it made me physically sick. After 2 nights without sleep they moved us to a "disable" cabin where the mattresses were so shocking they gave us terrible back ache. We asked for other mattresses but were told they didn't have. We asked for our so-called "5-star accommodation" to be improved but they did nothing. 3 nights later when we arrived in Mauritius, we had no choice but to ABANDON SHIP!! Losing our dreams of the most romantic holiday and all our money. And Cunard? Nothing! No offer of a any compensation at all... DISGUSTED!! AND BROKE!!
