Great ports / disappointing ship by catefam

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas / Destination: North America

Well let's start with the positive, the ports. My personal favorite was the bay of Fundy trail it's an absolute must do the park is newly opened and is truly a hidden gem there were so many things to see and do you should really research before you go.  The ship for me was a personal disappointment I didn't find anything great about it. To start with the food was inedible, my husband couldn't eat the meat portion of his dinner on about four occasions. I'm a vegetarian and  there was only one choice per restaurant. So if you didn't like what they were offering you were pretty much out of luck unless you wanted to go to the Windjammer Café upstairs.  The entertainment was good, the shopping with subpar a lot of cheap goods. Personally I will never go on anthem of the seas  again, I've been on other Royal Caribbean ships that I enjoyed much better.  Also I don't know if it was the timing or this particular cruise but the median age was probably around 68, there were a lot of scooters wheelchairs and walkers just thought it was worth a mention hardly any kids on this cruise .  I'm in my 50s and I felt like a spring chicken😊

The Good and The Not So Good by shelgren

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: North America

The 10 day cruise was good overall.  We had Suite L107 (Deck 15) on the front of ship.  I would not recommend this suite, as it catches all of the wind, bumps, and has a partially blocked view from a public deck that literally people can look right into your balcony and stateroom.  The noise as the doors close in and out to this public observation deck is annoying as well.  This cabin is also below the fitness center so you get that noise as well.  I would not recommend this cabin.  The Carribean Princess was in dry dock 6 years ago, but in that short time it shows wear (or it was not a renovation during dry dock).  Public area windows were stained and dirty, a piece of railing was missing on the front and was blocked with wood 2X4's, the hull had visible rust in more than just a few places.

I would also recommend anyone taking this itinerary to consider starting in Quebec, coming in early and stay an extra day or two.  It was truly the highlight of the cruise.

Beautiful Ports by teetime1232

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: North America

The Princess is a beautiful ship, just a lot of people.  Our stateroom was adequate, a little smaller than some ships we have been on.  The food and service was excellent.  The ports were all very pictures and full of history and are very easy to visit without planned or organized tours.  We chose anytime dining as we could meet many different people and choose the time we wanted to eat according to the days schedule.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: North America

From the start when we talk to Leanne Ong and booked our trip we already satisfied the way Leanne explain the trip.....that is why we always call Vacation Outlet and booked our cruise through Leanne. Our trip was beautiful the weather was great no rain at all from NYC to Quebec....we enjoy very much Quebec and New York. We love you Vacation Outlet and Leanne from California.

this princess needs a makeover..but don't we all by auntandy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: North America

the service was genuinely welcoming and caring. we enjoyed all the food we tried, except a disappointing evening in crown grill. no problem, they comped the meal.

(and no, judge judy, we did not eat the steak)

sabatini's was outstanding, and we had an amazing evening at the chef table

dinner. embarking and disembarking were seamless.

sadly, the weather wasn't kind but the people on our itinerary were.

if you get a chance, go to pete's pub in st john. great chat and colorful locals.

if you go to charlotte town, don't miss a tour of the falconry. those birds are

amazing.

The Best Cruiselne by srhrrsn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Mariner / Destination: North America

Well I think I found the best of the best cruise line.

I guess you can say I've been on them all and there competitors.

This was our first Regent and it can't get any better.

We loved it so much that half way through our cruise we booked an Australia

Cruise.

From the minute you walked on until you left you were treated like the most important person on the ship.

The food, entertainment ,tours were all beyond our expectations.

We won't be trying another line anymore.

Wonderful cruise! by svetp2003

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

It was our 1st cruise - and I'm happy to say - it was just wonderful!

We had diversity of food at buffet and in our dining room - delicious:-)

Excellent  service - our stateroom steward was very nice guy and all staff were very professional and useful.

We had different entertainment at any moment at somewhere at ship - and we can participate in anything - all were beyond all our expectations!

We bought some jewelry - very beautiful and good price :-)

We recommend this cruise to everyone!Happy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

The cruise line was awesome!!  Our first time on Princess and we had a great time on the ship.  Lots of fun things to do, Dan the Cruise Director was GREAT!  Lots of good food choices and our service was outstanding.  The excursions on this cruise were below average.

Great experience overall. by jamesschroeder5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Summit / Destination: North America

The entertainment was good especially "Really Not Tenors" who are probably the greatest show we have ever seen on a cruise. Lou Gazzara was also good. Don Wilson was funny.

Our servers at the Cosmopolitan Restaurant (Table 223) were outstanding. Purnata, Luki and Laviniu were not only great servers but they were warm and gracious and they made our dining experience the best we have ever had on three different cruise lines.

On sea days we really enjoyed the whirlpool, indoor p[ool and sauna.

Fun and diversity by TheRightWay

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Summit / Destination: North America

My favorite part of the cruise was the friendliness of the crew and guests. THe food was good, the staterooms were nice, and there were different activities.  THe only shore excursion we were disappointed in was the trip to the Sugar Shack.  THe food staff did a remarkable job of dealing with my allergies.  The people at the shore excursion and private shore excursion were excellent--we knew what to expect.  THe excursion we were not happy with we booked from home.

I would recommend this cruise to others.

Great ship, great crew, and some interesting ports by codling

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Summit / Destination: North America

We were so impressed with Captain Kate and her crew. They were the happiest, kindest, and closet crew we have ever met. The service they provide is top notch.

Dining experiences delicious, shows very entertaining due to talented singers, comedians, dancers, and cruise directors, and the staterooms well maintained.

We really enjoyed Boston, Bar Harbor, Quebec City, and Halifax the best.

Nice Trip by jwr1858

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Sunshine / Destination: North America

We enjoyed the cruise very much. The service was excellent, especially our room steward Lito. The ports were all very nice, but I wish there was more time to spend at them, especially Boston.  Just felt like we didn't have time to see everything we wanted.  Overall, it's a nice cruise and the weather was great in mid September.

You get what you paid for by dthorne

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Sunshine / Destination: North America

This was our 8th cruise from 4 different companies. This was our first carnival cruise. They didn't have great entertainment or a lot of thing going on like others we've been on, but then we paid a lot less too. Comedians were great! We chose anytime dining and we never waited to be seated but they were very slow getting the food to you. Burger joint was excellent! Recommended for those that are happy just to relax and don't need to be constantly entertained..

Beautiful ship. Fun Relaxing cruise by kawnew01

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

Explorer of the Seas is a Hugh, beautiful ship that is kept spotless. We opted for the My Time Dining. We made reservations before we left home. The two servers we had each night, Michael and Jeffrey were the best. Always cheerful, polite and just plain nice. The dining room food was incredible. Our room Stewart, not sure of his name but we were in cabin 6525, kept our room clean and always managed to do that while we were out of our room..

San Francisco & Victoria,British Columbia were beautiful and fun. Astoria, Oregon was pretty small and shops old. Not much to do there. People there friendly.

Money, money, money Is all they care about by binggong

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

This is my fourth cruise trip. I've cruised with Carnival and Norweigian before. A strong feeling is this ship only cares about getting more money out of your pocket, and it can be reflected by having only one complementary dining restaurant, more strict dining policy and shorter dining time. As for the the buffet place, its dining time is also shorter than other cruise ships, and out of the three food sections, almost always there's one of them closed for cleaning. There's no free barbecue food court or free fountain drinks on the deck either, but there're at least a dozen bars. Be careful with the menu they offered on their website, we found out later that not all the dishes are free even in the complimentary dining restaurant like you thought when looking at their website info. Als be careful with their last day's breakfast time, they closed off food section way before the schedule. Overall, it feels like a military dining room, not a relaxed vacation restaurant. Blame the short-sighted management.

Awesome Family time.... by memedupee

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

We (my older and younger brother, their wifes and my niece and her husband) took this cruise because we grew up on the Oregon coast and hadn't spent much time together in the past 10 years... we wanted to spend quality time together and my brothers (younger dealt with cancer in the last year) (older has diabetes) so we needed to do something that would be close to Seattle.  This cruise was perfect.  We got to spend time together, enjoy wonderful dining and great entertainment.  Thank you so much for a wonderful time together and great memories...

Pacific Coastal Crusing by lbalexander1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Coastal - West Coast

The ports were awesome.  The ship made changes since we last cruised.  Johnny Rockets is not included for free.  My dining needs reservation time.  Windjammer does not have much of a variety from day to day.  Grilling outside is gone.
