carnival cruise by nascar18x

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: U.S. - Southeast

ship was nice and the workers were great , but carnival give you a price and you end up paying a lot more. I do not drink soda which you have to pay extra for, If you drink adult drink you have to pay for everyday of the cruise. I would only drink 1 -2 drinks and it would cost me and my wife the same as the drink card. They sould change that policy and make it fare for people who drink responsiable.

A Holiday Cruise for Two by pedegreed

Sail date: /
Ship: Jewel of the Seas / Destination: U.S. - Southeast

The ship itself is beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. The crew, particularly the servers in the special restaurants and in the Vortex Club, was amazingly friendly and welcoming. We had an especially great meal at Chops on Christmas evening: Food was superb, service was excellent, ambiance was warm and relaxing. My wife and I have cruised several times on several different lines, and we agree that this is the most pleasant shipboard experience we've ever had.

Western Mediterranean to Galveston by DavidA8206543

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: U.S. - Southeast

The voyage was wonderful. The staff and crew were kind and generous. The ports of call were great, but I would have enjoyed stopping and more ports for shore excursions. I would book with United and Mariner of the Seas again.

Exceeded expectations by ATraveler1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: U.S. - Southeast

This was our 6th cruise although most of our international traveling is on our own. The Norwegian Epic is very large but seemed quick and easy to get around, although the elevators were slow. Although a repositioning cruise, it had the best entertainment we've seen on a cruise ship and the food and service were excellent.

Cruise from Jacksonville, FL by KathyT3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Fascination / Destination: U.S. - Southeast

Compared to other ships, this one was in need of something. I am not sure what. The decks did not go through, so, while we enjoy walking the ship, it was rather difficult to do on this ship. In fact, it got so that we had some difficulty trying how to get from here to there and vice versa. They really need to do something about this. There were no chairs anywhere on the ship that were comfortable enough to sit in for any length of time. In addition, they need to find some other musicians to entertain, as the ones they had were some of the worst I have ever heard/encountered. Coupled together, these two things made the time spent on the ship less than enjoyable. Finally, the rooms were very, very small, compared to other ships I have been on (have take about a dozen cruises), so, though we had to stay in the room a lot, it was rather confining. In addition, just getting around the room was not easy. Thank God it was a five day cruise and not longer! You could barely squeeze around to even get into one side of the bed. Absolutely no place to put your luggage, if you did empty it. In addition, there were very few balconies you could get (we were not able to get one at our booking site), but those that were on the ship, were very tiny and cramped, so we probably did not miss out on much. The food at the buffets was mediocre, at best. Carnival has not met our expectations--we have now taken four Carnival cruises, so have some experiences to compare. One bright spot were the shore excursions and stops, Key West and Nassau, both of which were great experiences.

We've had better Cruises" by R334558517

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: U.S. - Southeast

Great cruise because we made it that way. NCL needs to re think their ports of call. Eliminate Guatemala, Belize and Costa Maya. Too dangerous for Americans. Vegetarian menu selections could of been better, big issue trying to get "soy milk" daily. Shore excursions are way overpriced.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: U.S. - Southeast

I've experienced a few cruises in my time but this by far was the most elegant and relaxing. From starlight to moonlight, my spacious grand suite w/ balcony, beautiful spa/gym, delicious foods which cater to everyone, this cruise gives you more bang for your buck!!

A Good cruise by LornaY

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Island Princess / Destination: U.S. - Southeast

The Ship was nice, but I have been on a newer and bigger ship and can't help comparing. The Kid's club was excellent, my daughter loved it and made so many crafts, the staff was great and they were very strict about having proper I.D. when picking up your child.

For the most part, disappointing by AmyO4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Victory / Destination: U.S. - Southeast

This was my husband and my first cruise. My parents cruise a lot, but have only cruised on Royal Caribbean and Princess, never on Carnival. So our expectations of the overall cruise experience, food, service, etc. were pretty high due to their experiences. Boy were we wrong. If we didn't know better, (that other cruiselines provide such a different and more upscale experience than Carnival) we would never consider cruising as a vacation - EVER AGAIN. It's a sad sad statement for Carnival. Our cruise started with LINES. Imagine the longest Disney World lines times 100. Since this was only a 2 night cruise, Carnival decided to save a buck and forego the porters, and have everyone on the fully-booked ship carry on all of their bags. It didn't matter if you were on crutches, in a wheelchair, used a cane, whatever - you carried your own bags on. Not only did you carry your bags on, but you lugged them through the line for hours. If you were lucky, all of your luggage was on wheels. Many people weren't that lucky. The biggest problem with no checked luggage is that all 2000+ passengers and all of their luggage must be screened. Can you imagine 2000+ people in a security line at an airport? Now you've got the idea, but it was worse because at least in a security line at the airport, people only have their carry-ons! So, three hours later, and close to the scheduled sail time, we finally were in our room unpacking our bags. The line to get on the ship was still just as long as when we were in it, though. The ship was more than 2 hours late leaving port. There were more than a few unhappy people with just enough time to dump their bags in their rooms and grab their life vests for the lifeboat drill. Remember, this is only a 2 night cruise, so every minute the boat is late pushing off is time deducted from the gambling and shopping time that doesn't start until the boat is out into international waters. It's not like they will extend the arrival time on return. That's 2 hours OFF of our cruise time, two hours less of that particular evening's activities as well.

It was a wonderful experience. This was my first time cruising so I wanted to sample it by doing the one-day cruise. It was fabulous and I will definitely do it more often. The ship was just awesome, clean and very comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Heavenly Cruise by Leauchean

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Celebration / Destination: U.S. - Southeast

Ragsdale took her heavenly cruise November 16, 2022. She didn't get a chance to experience her first cruise scheduled for July 2023. I want to thank Carnival for a hassle free refund.
