Singapore to Malaysia by ronnie48

All in all a good cruise. A bit disappointed there were no robes provided [ we usually get them] also no welcome back party or special event that we are used to having. Looking forward to our next cruise with RCI on Ovation in May.

We chat with other passengers, we all think this cruise is excellent in food and entertainment. But other princess cruise should improve. All in all, we enjoy this trip very much.

Interesting and Relaxing Asian Cruise by GillyB1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

It was a spur of the moment booking for my birthday. A very different demographic to the cruises out of Australia, but I felt this enhanced our experience. We had great service and felt really well rested on our return home.

RCI Ruined My Cruise Trip by klcruising2017

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Asia & Indian Ocean

I am writing to share my totally dissatisfying cruising experience with RCI and their poor complaint handling practice. During the trip, my old mum and her old buddy (over seventies) suffered so much and said won’t cruise anymore because of such bad experience provided by RCI. I wrote a complaint to RCI after the trip, and what they said is the trip was “successfully delivered”. I am so frustrated with their unempathetic customer attitude and poor service. So I decided to share my experience with the future cruisers about my bad experience as reference when choosing cruisers. Most of all, the human traffic control measures by RCI cannot be worse, illustrated with the following examples: 1. When the ship was berthing at Sanya, we joined the RCI’s onshore excursion, but have to wait for an hour for getting off the ship. Moreover, RCI never had enough staff to help to keep people in order in the entire process. Worse was that when coming back, there were only 2 check-points to cater for hundreds of people coming in, resulting in lots of people having to wait for long time. My two ladies could not stand long and had to suffer from a long queue with people elbowing and pushing each other, ending up mourning and almost falling sick when getting back to the cabin. 2. The ship then was expected to berth at Vietnam 8am next day, which made most people flock to the restaurants for breakfast between 6 and 8am (so as to get off the ship at 8am), resulting in hundreds of people waiting for tables or standing to eat at the restaurant. The staff again did nothing to direct people to other places even the restaurant was full. The buffet restaurant ended up turning into chaos. When we were forced to leave for another restaurant, we were asked to wait outside and yet with plenty of empty tables inside. The result was that people could not get tables to eat and tables could not serve people, totally ridiculous. Again, my two old ladies had to rush through all the places for breakfast with their soring legs and ended up eating like a race. Such service quality is totally unacceptable. There are still a lot more examples that RCI failed customers in keeping managing their guest properly and happily with decent human control measures. I cannot believe at all that RCI which claims themselves as an expert of serving thousands of customers with quality service would turn out so ugly. Plus, when I talked at their guest service, some of their staff attitude were rude. Furthermore, some other negative experiences are worth sharing as below: Poor food quality, especially the cooking quality and variety. We were fed up with the same types of bad food for days. My two old ladies even lost their appetite and did not want to eat their food anymore. RCI’s staff’s sense of infection control is totally unacceptable. I had once pouring half the glass of juice into my bottle at the restaurant, the staff then mixed that glass with a new glass, and put them back in the serving tray to pretend two full glasses. Seriously? The guest service were not responsive, probably because of too many people lining up for inquiries or paying bills (the line for paying bills once lasted even for about 10 hours till 12 midnight) all the time. I could not believe RCI’s system was so inefficient and had to let their guests wait all the time in the trip. Is it a cruising trip or a lining trip? The onshore excursion was totally not value for money. The RCI’s onshore excursion only dropped the participants at one seaside with some shopping malls. The weather was bad so that we could not swim, ending up nothing to do. A lot of participants ended up waiting in the coach for coming back. However, the coach did not even provide air-conditioning during the hot and humid summer. In short, I felt like paying money for suffering. The customer services for complaint handling is very bad. After the trip, I wrote a detailed complaint to RCI. They came back with the compensation of cruise coupon or on board consumption coupon for a future itinerary. Since my two old ladies were tortured by their service so much and do not want to cruise anymore, the coupons are actually useless. This also illustrates how RCI is unempathetic and insincere in treating their customers. I then said that if they really wanted to restore the confidence and relieve the suffering for my two old ladies, any token other than cruise related products serve well, even though a nice dinner at a good restaurant would do. However, their literal response from their headquarters to that is: “Even though we recognize a portion of your vacation with us was negatively impacted, the entire cruise in itself was not. This means there were services all of you paid for that were successfully provided.” Literally, the entire trip is ruined to my two old ladies due to their poor service. How hypocritical and thick-skinned of the RCI’s response! Such customer service attitude serves as a final blow to my initiative to talk with them anymore. Hope my experience can help you pick cruisers, especially when with the elderly. To me, I will not cruise with RCI anymore. If you do, good luck and hope you would not repeat my tragedy.

Enjoyable trip by ank

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Oceana / Destination: Middle East

We really enjoyed our holiday as first timers and would consider cruising again. Though if you want to get to know a place the few hours you have in port are not enough except for small places like Katakolon. I think its worth doing your research about whats on board and go exploring early on.

I truly thought this would be the best cruise ever, waa waa waa:( by billrach

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Majestic Princess / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

The best part of any cruise vacation is how you make the best of a bad situation and truly have fun and relax. One thing I will give Princess credit for is very good in room movies and TV shows. all on demand and at your leisure. The Wifi was expensive and slow. Again, we will stick with Royal Caribbean when Cruising.

Our best and favorite cruise to date! by Kauaiswimmer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Majestic Princess / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

This cruise made us realize how much fun it is to be on a maiden voyage so we made a vow to always book long cruises whenever a ship ship comes out. Consequently, we booked the Sky for Nov 2019 and are looking forward to the new one that will be launched in 2020.

Maiden Majestic Voyage by Grandpops5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Majestic Princess / Destination: Asia & Indian Ocean

We had a fabulous time on the Majestic and visited some once-in-a-lifetime ports.  The crew worked hard to be sure the ship is incredibly well maintained and cleaned even though it was only a few months old!  With a very few exceptions, the entire staff from housekeeping to the officers were especially friendly and made an extra effort to make the voyage special for passengers.  The fitness center is well equipped and large enough so I never had to wait for a cardio machine although the weight machines were sometimes understandably busy.

Unfortunately, like the sister ship Regal, the sauna is only available to those willing to pay the extra fee ($500+) for Spa access.  We were traveling with another couple and we requested a traditional dinner table for 8 but instead we had table for 4.  We still enjoyed the meals and the servers (Anna and Judit) were fabulous but we would have preferred the opportunity to meet other passengers with a larger table.  One new production show was truly incredible whereas the remained of the stage shows in the Princess Theater were the typical cruise entertainment shows.

Overall, our Princess experience was as expected and we will continue to travel with Princess in the future.  In fact, we already have three cruises scheduled during the next 18 months!

a wonderful cruise experience by edypan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Asia & Indian Ocean

This was the 2nd cruise trip with Royal Caribbean.

The food was fantastic and full of varieties.

The rooms were cleaned almost 3 to 4 times a day (whenever we left the room). Great job!

The show was good. If possible bring in few more international performers..

The cruise director was great.

However the the lady (cant recall her name) in charge of the program was horrible. Acting too childish on TV and rather unfriendly.

windjammer bottle-neck by docharv

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Ovation of the Seas / Destination: Asia & Indian Ocean

Wonderful ship with modern facilities, great shows etc etc

BUT as with all Royal Caribn. ships,we have sailed on many,  The Windjammer buffet style restaurant continues to be a disaster. No matter what time we arrived it was always a problem to find a table !!!! Not enough staff clearing tables and no staff to help finding a table, you  just wander round aimlessly waiting . Dont get a plate of food till you find a table. Not the definition of "free for all" that you were expecting !!!!

Hated it - never again

Ship: Vision of the Seas / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

The cruise was excellent.  Petra was brilliant, worth the entire trip.  Made the same passage 2 years ago w/out the Petra stop.  This cruise all about Petra.  Crew & Staff were first rate, perfer smaller ship.  Meals very good, Izumi restaurant top notch.  Classical music and the Beatles Celebration both excellent.  Motown little lacking but okay.  Quest was outstanding!Happy

Fabulous Unique Itinerary by smccoyphd

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Loved the itinerary, did all excursions with recommendations from Trip Advisor:Bravo Bombay, Oman Day Tours, Cochin Day Tours, Magic India, and Rita's Gourmet Cooking in Goa.

Food was very good but nothing exceptional.  Don't waste your money on Specialty dining...only the Ocean Liner was worth it.  This Tuscan grill is not Italian and the room is a converted florist room.  The sushi room is weird not exactly a premium location or nice experience.

The entertainment was excellent..loved the early show (7PM) then later dinner.

Good service, great shows. by lichena

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

The evening show was one of our favourite parts of the cruise,  The Silent Disco was very popular. Although we never joined, it was hilarious just to watch others.

The food could use less salt in general. We loved the noodles station on Deck 10.

Would suggest carving out more areas where people can just sit and read.  The library was too small for such a big boat.

Staff on the boat are in general very helpful and friendly.

First time cruising by constelation

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Not really knowing what to expect we were happily surprised that cruising exceeded our expectations. It was an amazing holiday, all the staff were friendly, polite, helpful always wanting to do anything they could to make sure that you were having an enjoyable time. The food was fantastic in every restaurant that you could choose to eat in. Rooms were lovely comfy beds lovely bedding and checked twice a day. The only thing that was negative was the amount of time on shore, some of our ports where a fair distance from where we needed to go, so we did panic on a few occasions getting back to the port on time! However over all it was great and we would definitely recommend cruising to anyone of our friends! In fact we're now looking for our next one!

Good morning Vietnam by cferry

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Just got back from this cruise, the  Celebrity Constellation staff and crew were fabulous. Our favourite part was Ho Chi minh City and Nha Trang beach, runner up was Ko Samui in Thailand. As far as the ship itself, our favourite part was the food quality, definitely above average service was efficient and polite. The only downside really is the time it takes to drive into some of the destinations from port, can be up to 2 hours by bus but if its your first time and you get a guided tour its worth it so you make sure to maximize your time and see the best sites.

Two thumbs up here!

Suez Canal - Legend of the Seas final cruise under RCL by towens101

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Legend of the Seas / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

The passage through the Suez Canal was very unique and interesting.  I wish, however that they would have provided more information during the passage.  They had an "expert" on board but she only made 2 announcements during the passage.  There was a passage that had done her homework and she had all kinds of interesting facts she was sharing with those around here.  Too bad we all couldn't have heard that throughout the passage.

I appreciated the ship lay out, seemed a bit more intimate and nothing was far from each other.

This was the final cruise under RCL for this ship as it was being moved to the Med and being sold to Thompson Cruiseline (apparently local to the UK).

cruise is good, food poor by tomfam

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Celebrity Millennium cruise of asia was good, ports were fun and much to do. But the food on the ship was fair. The main dinning room food was poor and the buffet was much better. The meals we got on the shore were much better than on the ship. Also we were told of shuttle for disembarkation, but when we got off the ship they said there were none, just left us stranded.
