This is an older ship. The crew is overall rude and poorly trained. The lack of professionalism ruined our entire cruise.

Everything about the ship was great.. It only took us about 20 minutes to board the ship.

I have travelled Holland-America a few times now. This time I was a little disappointed we we chose an inside room (our fault) only to discover it was so small (my husband is 6'2") but mostly it smelled to me of cigarettes. Not that it hadn't been cleaned as it had and the fellows kept it clean - as time went on the smell lifted. I am an outdoor person so the fact that we had 2 days upon returning that we could not go outside I did not appreciate. I understand but didn't care for that. I love the fact that bridge lessons/bridge play - we did it every day when not on excursions - is available. The excursions were also wonderful, most particularly, the guides exceeded our expectations on all islands. I found that some of the food combinations at dinner were strange - exotic - and I cook all kinds of foods. Some pairings just didn't go together. I think the ship, itself, perhaps needs a bit of an uplift. It was nice to be taken care of!!!

First time on Princess cruise line, 8th time cruising total. GREAT service, everyone was friendly, room with extended balcony was awesome. First time I ever did my own laundry and it was so EASY! We were surprised at the amount of negativity the travelers voiced, not used to an older crowd/

This was our second cruise on the Spirit. We had taken it to Alaska previously. It was a great time. The ship had added an Adult Only Sun deck - Serenity Deck. It was great. Wicker furniture with padding. Cabana's and even hammocks. Very comfortable. We also enjoyed the Anytime Dining option. This allows you to dine when you want. Only drawback was not having the same waiters each night. In some sections, we found the service to be lacking. When we found someone good, we requested that section. Lots of shore excursions, but pricey. We hooked up with some other guests and did it on our own, for much less. This ship will not be doing the Hawaii cruise any longer. I would probably not do the 15 day itinerary to Hawaii again, but instead would look for a cruise from the states to Hawaii and depart to fly home from there, giving you the option to stay longer if you wanted. It was very relaxing and good weather for the most part. There were a couple of emergencies on this cruise, guest jumped overboard, and a medical emergency, and the crew/ship handled them well. Guest was rescued and we returned to Hawaii with a sick guest who needed medical care. This meant we missed the port of Ensenada, but in it's absence, a guest was an Elvis impersonator, and they had him put on a great show for us. Ensenada was an evening stop, and with the dangers in Mexico, it was doubtful how many would get off anyway. I know I wouldn't have gotten off. Overall, a great time.

The ship was nice and we primarily picked it based on the itinerary from San Diego to Hawaii which included 5 Hawaiian port visits. The 4 days at sea to Hawaii and 5 days at sea back to San Diego we were excited to watch shows, eat, relax, and be entertained. We were not! The shows were very lacking in good entertainment value. The best shows were actually where they had the passengers entertain the crowds and the magic show was good too. The Carnival Spirit Singers and Dancers were about the least entertaining of all the cruises we have been on. The band was good but without direction on how to make a good entertaining show there was nothing they could do. Out of the 15 day cruise, there were 3 dance/singing shows, 1 magic show, 1 hypnotist show, 2 guest shows, and luckily the PASSENGERS brought on an Elvis impersonator for their own groups Blue Hawaii Cruise Tour and he gracefully performed a show for the entire ship because the ship had nothing planned! It was the best show of the whole cruise and it had nothing to do with the Carnival's entertainment plan! Overall we were terribly bored and disappointed with the entertainment. The service by the general crew was also disappointing. We had my-time dining and it took us several days to find a set of wait staff we liked. Once we did we requested their tables every night! It was more about the general crew members not being able to understand or respond in basic English to most of our questions. It was the least quality of general service we have ever received on a cruise ship. It could possibly be because they were all at the end of their season and they are transitioning to Alaska after this cruise was over. But never the less, it was poor service.

Great service although some members were lacking in personality. As usuall music in shows was too loud and som,e areas of ship were cold.

Century shows its age. The crew work hard at keeping everything clean and in good repair but the ship needs a major overhaul

We have been on several Celebrity Ships before, this one seemed to be in the worst condition, lots of creaks and noises in the night.

If you like the time "at sea", then by all means take this ship on this cruise. Just be warned that the pacific ocean is cold. We only had two or three "warm" days at sea, and they were still chilly. For the 30-40 age range people thinking about this cruise, know this, this is a cruise geared more for 60+ age group. While we found the older crowd acceptable, they don't offer a lot of activities for the "middle age'' folks. The crew was great, very plaesant, and ready to serve. The ship itself was ok in its layout. However we found out on the second to last day that the stabilizers were broke, which made for a very rocky ride.

The ship is larger then we like or usually sail on but was well equiped to handle the numbers.

This is our second cruise on the Oosterdam , we are so pleased with the quality of service and food that we receive. This is why we chose to go with Hooland America, let alone on the Oosterdam. We have cruised on other lines, but they seem to go the extra step to make sure you are taken care of. The varieties of food that they offer are tremendously delicious, we found ourselves eating even though we weren't hungry.. too much to chose from. We loved all the extra activities that they offer duriing the daytime too, their explore programs, something for everybody.

Loved the ship. Specifically enjoyed the adult pool and hottubs in the Lotus Spa area. Liked the Horizon court seating, great area to sit and enjoy the view and play cards.

Completly escape. I like the relaxing atmostphere. Service people always try to please you 100% no matter how difficult you are. Food are delicious . Activities for all ages.

the staff was very helpfull and tried to help with what ever they can.

Beautiful ship, great service, great way to see the islands!
