Disappointed with celebrity cruise ship

Sail Date: April 20, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Room Type: Balcony

This is an older ship. The crew is overall rude and poorly trained. The lack of professionalism ruined our entire cruise.

Pros: The port of Maui which we visited

Cons: The rudeness and poorly trained staff on the ship

Recommends Celebrity Century? No.

Cabin / Stateroom
The stateroom was clean--but they were constantly working on some part of the ship, so the constant noise from the work was annoying. They had lighting problems, and plumbing problems--our bathroom was completely flooded and backed up at one point from the cabin next to us that had plumbing problems. Had to constantly ask for more supplies--(shampoo, q-tips, etc.) They were not an attentive stateroom staff.
Entertainment
Poorly chosen entertainment. They had one great act....the rest of it was not worth attending.
Ship Quality
The shopping on board was poor--they really only had one small shop besides a liquor store....everything was very over priced--not an enjoyable experience. There was a foul diesel fuel smell throughout the ship on certain floors--this is not a ship I would recommend to anyone.
Service and Staff
The worst cruise we have ever been on--poorly trained staff...rude...and unfriendly
Children's Programs
Poor schedule for our 15 year old daughter....we were very disappointed....again--it was an embarrassment to Celebrity.
Food and Dining
Overall the food was average since the dinners "overall" were presented well...the problem, however, was that some of the entrees were below standard....and some I would never offer to anyone--be it a ship, restaurant, or home--they were an embarrassment to Celebrity Cruises.
