Good first cruise but not the best price! by letetiaparker

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Hawaii

I enjoyed the cruise and will be planning additional cruises possibly next year on some other cruise lines so I have something to compare. I didn’t get the best price, perks or onboard credits but I learned a lot of tips from people I met on the ship for sure.

Bucket list cruise by erps

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Splendor / Destination: Hawaii

The ocean was surprisingly smooth as compared to sometimes in the Caribbean except for Kona which was a tender port. The seas were too rough to go ashore so we had to skip that port. This was the friendliest staff we have ever had. Lee Mason, the cruise director was great! Even the captain made appearances around the ship quite often. It was great to be a part of the record breaking donation that was raised for St. Jude's Children's hospital. $40,000 will be hard to beat.

We had a fantastic time! It was our first ever cruise that my husband gave to me as an anniversary gift and we can't wait to book another. by DebbieandHomer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Splendor / Destination: Hawaii

The biggest disappointment was the internet or should I say the lack there of. I do understand that it is something completely of out of Carnival's control and we were given a refund.

Favorite Cruise Ever! by mlcuster74

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Pride of America / Destination: Hawaii

Overall, very pleased with everything. I skipped the buffet all the time and ate at the restaurants instead-it is much better. My brother in law went to the buffet and said that it did not taste good and glue gave it a few chances. Na Hoku on the ship is amazing-see Kimberly for any sales you need and she also has good tips. We had a great time. Cabin 7662 was on the correct tmside of the ship to view the NaPali Coast. Great fun!

Cruise from Hell by walcarmatt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Hawaii

Our "Cruise from Hell" would have been a true disaster had it not been for a few wonderful and also disappointed people at our sitting. Caribbean cruising aboard Royal Caribbean / Holland America and/or Celebrity is so much more fun .... new big ships with nicely appointed staterooms ..... bathrooms with telephonic showers, staterooms with sitting areas, television viewing that is not constantly on a continual loop, food that is not served from the earlier sitting. What more can I say ..... walkers, tricycles, wheelchairs, hearing aids, 4 wheel powered wheelchairs ....... old people ..... real old people ...... fat people ... fatter people, ..... people who don't speak & don't understand English .... and all without absolutely no "caregivers". Hawaii, for us was a real "downer" ..... a lot of hype and not much in return. That being said .... we had to see it for ourselves. Princess cruise lines could have easily afforded us with more shore-time on each island given the proximity to our next destination. Food was constantly returned .... was not eatable, over-cooked / under-cooked ..... Princess cruise lines "nickle & dimes you in every respect. Could not get a wine package at a reasonable price .... only an alcohol package was available at $80.00 per day and must be purchased for the entire 15 day cruise ..... what a joke !!!! Internet operates at Super-slow speed ...... Showers are ridiculous ......so small that you could hardly rinse the soap off your body. The shore excursion at roughly $180.00 each was to be from 8:00 AM thru to 2:30 PM. ..... however, that was not the case, we departed at 8:45 AM and returned at 1:15 PM .... we learned absolutely nothing about Hawaii or of any point of interest along the way. We did however learn of what a wonderful man our guide was ..... 1 of 11 children, so hard working and in terrible need of money to support his family ...... sure, what a joke !!!!!! The worst guide that we have ever come across .......That was a useless excursion ..... and then when we attempted to express our disappointed .... we were told that they would contact us ..... that too never happened. Princess Cruise lines are not very considerate of their guests. Money is the name of their game ...... service and hospitality is secondary !!!!!!

Aloha and Mahalo! by doric

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Hawaii

The first five days of the cruise were at sea. Unfortunately the weather was very cool and rainy. We could not sit by the pool till the fifth day but when we were able, enjoyed the movies under the stars. If you're looking for sun for the days at sea, you'd probably be better sailing from Los Angeles rather than Vancouver. Captain Lewis and his staff were excellent. An older crowd of passengers.

Sailing through the various Hawaii Islands was a great experience! We loved every stop! The food on the ship could have been better quality wise but overall it was okay.

Great Trans Pacific cruise Vancouver to Hawaii by howardapage

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Hawaii

Smooth sailing once we got away from Vancouver. I like to spend time relaxing in the Solarium and there were always lounges available. We like to relax in the spas, but most people like the bubbles on and ignored us and just turned the bubbles on when they got in. Many times, they would leave a few minutes after getting into the spa. There is no way of turning off the bubbles once they have been activated and they bubble for about 15 minutes. Very irritating! Many places have a timer for the bubbles that can be turned off at any time. We have had this same complaint on other cruises with Celebrity. The gym is very good, lots of good equipment. The morning talks about the Volcano, Hawaii and Coral Reefs were excellent. Outstanding and interesting presentations and deliveries! The talks in the Central Theater were more of a sales pitch. Where to buy stuff. Not interested and did not stay long for the presentation. Celebrity is one of our favorite cruise lines and we will probably cruise with you another time. Even though you are affiliated with Royal Caribbean, we were not that impressed with Jewel of the Seas. However, you are also affiliated with Azamara and we really like that ship. We even have a cruise booked with them December 2018. We had taken your ship, the Solstice, to Alaska one week before this cruise.

Additional review of Vancouver to Hawaii cruise by MineName

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Hawaii

I took this survey yesterday, but I forgot to mention one very important thing, smoking areas. Our cabin was on the seventh deck and the smoking was on deck 5, just below us. Sometimes the smoke rising up to our cabin was so bad that we had to close our balcony door. Also, one corner of the pool area was reserved for smoking. It would be so thick when walking through there that we avoided that corner. The third was on the top deck bar in the rear. One side was for smoking and the other was non-smoking. Again, the smoke from the smoking area would drift over to the non-smoking area and we would have to leave. We noticed also when this happened that the non-smoking area had no one there. We realize that smokers need a place to smoke, but many times in interferes with non-smokers.

Hawaii from British Columbia by Kurt646

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Hawaii

It was a good cruise. The Solstice singers and dancers were fantastic and should have performed more. Cabin steward was great, bartenders excellent, servers attentive and everything was very clean. Tendering was awful taking 2-3 hours to get everyone ashore. Ports were typical, security was professional and Passenger Services people we professional and helpful. A good sold 4 stars.

Cruise from Vancouver to Hawaii by Bruin76

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Hawaii

Cruise was great. Five leisurely sea days, followed by four port days. Excursions were very good. Aqua class was greatly appreciated, which included Persian Garden (thermal suite), private Restaurant Blu and upgraded showers. Daily hor doerves and tea delivery was not necessary since the food options were plentiful.

Love the places we traveled to, very beautiful. Thank you, we will travel again, but would to try a newer ship, hopefully Carnival will use one of their newer ships go to Hawaii, such a beautiful place deserves a newer ship.

Amazing cruise, only 1 problem by avelosa18

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Hawaii

We had an amazing honeymoon aboard the Carnival Legend! Hawaii was amazing, and the cruise was so nice. The cruise staff were all great and our steward was top notch! We did both break out in a rash, and medical gave us benadryl and another medicine that unfortunately did not solve our problem. Outside of that, we had the best honeymoon and couldn’t have asked for more!

Wonderful Hawaiian Cruise by jacksonjan1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Hawaii

Radiance has a wonderful personality with very helpful and friendly staff. The on board activities are typical for a smaller ship. If the Activity Director, John Blair, performs his salute to Neil Diamond be sure to see this! We ate every dinner in the main dining room because the food and service was excellent. Will definitely cruise on this ship again!
