Overall I enjoyed the cruise food was excellent staff was great! The only down fall is the pool areas. If you are looking for fun fun like Carnival cruise you will not get that on this ship it's more laid back and relaxing.

Disappointing NCL Epic built in France by palsab

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

From the time you arrive (BCL) expect your whole trip to be waiting "in line" for everything. Bcl you wait in line as some passenagers did not print their tags so you have to wait for them - the loading staff have no idea as we all wait in a long line of 32'C in the sun. once you get on board the elevators expect the 7 days of waiting for them. The suite spa level 14 deck paid the higher price to expect something better.. what a disapointment. the toilet and shower are in your room. They saved all the space in the floor layout and to give you an oversized balcony. USELESS. Dinning package do not expect much for the up charge. No Lobster tails. staff and service fair and did not experience any outstanding service. Washi very limited menu for what you expect. Note they do Chef special orders but nobody tells you this. Ports of call - very disappointed how whort a stay they allow you. Naples - get off the ship and easy walk to town. this works Rome - the 1.5 hour drive port to city less the time you need to return to the ship cuts into the time you have in Rome. We only had about 5 hours to see the sights. VERY UPSET about this part. Florence - the same as Rome just did not have the time we needed to see the city. Cannes - the boat tender system very messed up. We did the TV sign up and only showed 730am and 12noon options we booked group17 only to hear over the PA that they started called it at 930am the lines on the return way too long with only 4 boats running on 2 gangways. Majorca way too little time and we should have had a later departure. Arrival in BCL in RAIN so this time as we left the terminal we got socked getting on the airport bus. again the logicist staff all need to be fired, not sure if they are 3rd party vendor to NCL but this was just uncalled. I want my $50 transfer fee back.

Not a very good cruise by bfallan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Sinfonia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

I wouldn't recommend a cruise on the Sinfonia. We did the 7-day eastern Mediterranean cruise out of Venice. This ship is on the small side and the on board activities are limited, but we booked it because we were excited about the itinerary. Unfortunately the ship had mechanical issues so we missed the stop in Mykonos entirely (and it was only going to be a few hours anyway, the way the itinerary was advertised is misleading). Not only was this disappointing, but MSC was very reluctant to provide updates about what was happening, so we were stressed not knowing how much additional disruption to expect. But the biggest complaint would be the food. We booked the Aurea package, and despite reading some negative reviews about the food before we left, assumed that having the my choice dining in the Il Covo restaurant would get us access to a higher quality of dining. That was not the case. We got sick off the food our fist night on the ship, and a number of the dishes we were served throughout the cruise were simply inedible. After our dinners in Il Covo we would go to the buffet looking for other options, and what really floored us was that a number of the dishes served in Il Covo each evening were also served on the buffet. So all the Aurea dining package bought us was the same bad food as the buffet but plated and brought to us by a waiter. I wish I had taken the negative reviews of the food more seriously before I booked the cruise, it was really disappointing. I will give credit to the staff, who for the most part we found helpful and friendly. When the boat had mechanical problems, they were stuck in the same situation as us not knowing what was happening, and they tried their best to keep things positive. Overall, based on our experience, I wouldn't recommend a cruise on the Sinfonia.

NCL Star 7/2018 great cruise by bnrein

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Star / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Disembarkation was terrible. NCL staff said they hadn't docked at that terminal before. We were in lines with only one elevator. Ship was nice & clean and staff were great.

Loved the ship and crew. But the passengers made my vacation the worst ever. by Gennene75

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Musica / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Cruise ship and service was great. The other passengers made this vacation awful for my family and myself. They were very very rude and unwelcoming. This is the first time in my life I felt really uncomfortable and welcomed by so many people, and was trapped on a ship with this fee8for 7 days........

Magnificent Mediterranean cruise! by gdaxland

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Symphony of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

It was a very hot week but in spite of it we had a fabulous time. The cabin for 3 was spacious with lots of closet & drawer space, & no bunk beds. The food was extraordinary with lots of options. We were given the tour of the executive kitchen on one of the 3 kitchen floors which was very interesting to see the inner workings of such a massive ship. The bartenders mixed some great drinks which were priced higher than on our previous cruise on the Serenade of the Seas. Entertainment & land excursions were well organized for so many people. We highly recommend Royal Caribbean & have booked our next adventure above the Arctic Circle!

Wonderful Western Mediterranean Cruise! by lasierkwilliams

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

When my wife and I first talked about going on vacation we wanted to go to Europe, so we started looking for which country to go too. We were stuck on Spain and Italy, then we ran across the western Mediterranean cruise which covered both countries. We couldn't have picked a better Cruise line to accommodate what we were looking for. I was blown away at how clean the ship was and the excellent service from the beginning to the end.

Overall great, but few mishaps by Cruisecritic2

Good food. Needs a better pool side and a pool where adults can relax without worrying about drowning. Adult pool was too small and too deep.

Fantastic trip with friends. by joshuagoldstein

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Great trip, staff on ship were super friendly and provided excellent service. Make sure you see all ports, cofu is thought given time limitations just make sure you have a plan before disembarking and a drink package is key.

Disappointed in the staff, embarkation and disembarkation process by mjoparris

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Sinfonia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

I believe that by taking away the opportunity for the crew to gain tips for giving quick, efficient service with a smile (none of the staff smiled at passengers except for the wait staff in the My Choice Dinning room) may be one of the reasons most of the staff seemed to hate their jobs. This new policy regarding tips is the only thing I can think of that may have caused such a different experience with the staff on board this ship as compared to my experience 3-4 years ago on an MSC cruise out of Rome where the entire staff was always friendly and helpful.
