Europe - Mediterranean Cruise Reviews

I had read a number of reviews of the Norwegian Spirit prior to sailing saying the ship is showing its age, the food was just OK, etc. We are a low maintenance couple with 20 plus cruises on Princess, Royal Caribbean, Carnival, River Cruises and one prior cruise on Norwegian. We would rate our cruise on Norwegian Spirit the same as on the other ships on which we have cruised--the food was very good to excellent, the entertainment was excellent and the service was excellent. Freestyle cruising was welcome as you could \"dress up..or not\" and we chose \"or not\" to keep our luggage to one bag so as not to incur a charge for a second bag on the airplane. We had a number of dealings/questions with the Purser's Desk and found all employees service oriented and pleasant to deal with. The ship was well maintained and the public areas did not show any wear and tear but the cabins did show some nicks in the wood furniture and in our cabin a piece of the carpet baseboard was loose and the sink in the bathroom had some cracks--nothing that would stop us from sailing on the Spirit again. The shower in the bathroom was the biggest we have ever seen in an interior cabin...big enough for two with sliding glass door! The ship has been refurbished and scheduled for another soon. The tours were excellent and we noticed a Norwegian Shore Excursion employee on many of the tours we took which was a good idea so the Norwegian employee could help the tour guide and also rate how well the tour guide was meeting the expectations of the tour.

Because the ship is new, everything is very clean.

We loved the port of calls that is why we chose this cruise but they were no breaks until 5 days. Although we enjoyed the excursions but it was very exhausting. We also expected that the new ship to be different or a better, for example, elegant styles and layout, serving a different food since we are in the Mediterranean. Actually, the lobby and theater did not impressed us at all, color and decorations.

Lovely ship, very clean, very spacious, decor was very elegant, and the crew was very professional and pleasant. Getting on and off the ship, tendering, ship excursions were all organized and accomplished very efficiently.

The ship was great but we would not use Delta again. They were rude and unhelpful. We booked our entire trip with them at considerable cost. When there was a delay, they were unhelpful and reminded us repeatedly that we were not Gold or Platnium cardholders. Their priority is to assist those customers.

We recently sailed aboard the Celbrity Silhouette. This is now one of our favorite ships. We thoroughly enjoyed the adult pool. The professional, friendly staff exceeded our expectations. We feel so at home on Celebrity. All the little extras such as the cold towels on the pier and the welcome back after excursions are fantastic. The excursions themselves were educational, fun well planned, and safe. Thank you for a great experience.

Everything about the ship was first rate, including appearance, cleanliness, facilities, entertainment, and especially the staff.

I would highly recommend Celebrity we had wonderful experience on this and another cruise.

The ship was enormous! Even though, it was fairly easy to find our way around. My favorite stop was the \"Ice Bar.\" After a hot day in Rome that ice cold room with cold drinks served in cone shaped ice glasses was the best. One thing I didn't like so much was the huge screen at the back of the boat because it cut out the view when departing the piers. The internet was so slow, also...it was a real waste of money, actually. The food was okay, not the best I've had on a cruise, but it did the job. The crew did not seem happy at all, and seemed stressed out or something...The rooms had kind of a weird set up. The bathroom and shower were in the entrance, but were kind of see-through glass, and in separate spaces. You could pull a curtain across but it just did not seem very private. I am usually a very positive person, so it's kind of surprising to me to have to be writing a review like this...

The ship is beautifully decorated and very clean.

The Ship was very clean and beautiful. The staff was exceptional. Please work on the internet service and WiFi. Also, we would like to more updated slots in the casino.

OVERALL VERY SATIFIED. GREAT SERVICE,GOOD ORGANIZATION.

Overall the ship was clean, cabin staff professional, but buffet dinning mediocre. Thank goodness for the main dinning menus and food.

Large cabins and tasteful decor

Our trip couldn't have been better...Celebrity paid close attention to every detail, from the on board dining, to the quality of the linens, to the hiring of an exceptional staff, and providing over the top entertainment.

My stateroom clothes cabinets were dirty upon checkin, but were cleaned within minutes of the request. Calling customer service on board usally resulted in long hold times.

We loved this ship. Everything very clean and organized. There was hand sanitizer everywhere you went. They even had paper to open the bathroom doors so you did not have to touch the door handles. Food was very good and fresh. Specialty restaurants were first class and service overall very good.

The islands were amazing but the ship was less than good. Way to many people on the ship. Every where you go you are crammed. Trying to find a seat for a show, on the pool deck, for lunch, etc. is just to difficult. The alcohol is quite expensive, especially since there is a 15% gratuity added to every drink no matter what. A beer is 6 dollars for heavens sake. All in all, the places we visited were fantastic, however the cruise/boat itself I would not recommend. The staffers were great but that cant make the ship worthwhile when you are packed in liked sardines.
