Old Legend by raye38

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Legend is an old ship, expected nicer accomodations for a balcony stateroom. Carpets were old, ceiling over balcony had peeling paint and rust, several corridors had missing ceiling panels and buckets under them for the leaks. Food quality was not as good as previous cruises. Dining staff was good, service fast and attentive waiters......Juan and Maja were great, Jose needs to practice his customer service skills, don't think he said 10 words entire 12 days, Wahyu, cabin steward was tremendous......great service, any request was done immediately.

Ports are great..ship/entertainment just ol by Peachesissweet

Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Overall if you are looking for a 65+ years of age cruise, lackluster food, entertainment and an annoying cruise director then choose this. All the stops and shore excursions were great. Personally I would not do this cruise again with Carnival but maybe another cruise line.

Carnival Legend was a wonderful experience, amazing staff, great locations to visit in the Mediterranean. I would recommend Carnival Cruise to others and already have been. Would love to attend another cruise after this great experience.

Great destinations but the experiences on board the ship were lacking by LovedCorfu

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Magica / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We chose this cruise because of the destinations and they were great. However, the on-board experience was not up to the standards of other cruise experiences we've had. Our balcony room was great and our cabin steward did a very nice job as did our servers in the dining room. Communications were not good - for example, we didn't get the message about needing to get our passports before arriving at Dubrovnik in a timely manner and found our about it by word of mouth at dinner. We were in our room until 6:30 pm when we went to dinner and had not received the sheet stating that we needed to pick them up between 6pm and 8pm. We were told by our tablemates at 7:45pm that if we didn't get our passports by 8pm, we would not be able to go ashore at Dubrovnik. We left our food to run to the 5th floor to get them. A crew member at the elevator told us to go to the 3rd floor so we went there and there we were told to go to the 5th floor after all. We got there right before 8pm and then were told we could get them later if we'd missed that deadline. The information sheet was in our room when we got back after dinner. Why wasn't that listed in the Today program from the night before? Staff did not greet us with smiles and warm greetings anytime we encountered them throughout the ship as we've become accustomed to with other cruise lines. They typically just ignored us and continued on with their own conversations. In fact, at Santorini, staff members were rude to us as we were getting ready to board the tender. The food was okay but not great like the food we've had on other ships. There weren't any activities that interested us on board the ship before or after shore excursions. No wine tastings or lecture series (although I know that would be difficult with all the languages being spoken) or dance lessons except during the day while we were off the ship. As people from the US, we found very few English speaking people and felt that this cruise line is really not really there for English speaking guests.

Fun relaxing cruise by Firstimecruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We had a good time and had great service. Patrick was our coordinator and was very friendly and always left our room spotless. I thought the cruise directors staff had great energy. My only complain was the cruise was too crowded it was difficult to find seating in the Buffett and finding a chair to lay out by the pool. I would recommend this cruise to friends.

Our Norwegian Epic experience by tdavila

Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

This is our first cruise, It was wonderful, exciting and fun, fun, fun!! We were spoiled on this cruise, and it felt so good to just do nothing but sleep, shower and get served. There were so many activities on the ship itself, that even when it rained and we didn't disembarked we had fun. The ship is so clean,my husband walked around in socks in the room and his socks did not get dirty. How good is that!! We enjoyed eating in the Gardens and The Manhattan room(where Lucy our server just made every meal a pleasure).Every where we go it was wonderful. Except for Osheehans a few of the servers(women) were not to friendly, so we never went back!!! why ruin our cruise.. other than that it was all good.

Expectations exceeded by Ontariocruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We had a fantastic time. Wonderful ice skating show in Studio B, and cirque de soleil performances in the Metropolis Theatre. No sea sickness, compared to another cruise line trip to the Bahamas. Great fish and lamb dishes; beautifully presented dishes and desserts. Extremely polite staff in dining rooms, hair salon, stateroom and the security person who checked on us while walking on deck at night. The carpets need replacing and the showers are too small. The art tour and auctions were interesting, but a long wait for home delivery. We were overcharged once on our bar bill, but it was corrected the next day, after talking to Client Services. It was nice to be able to check our bill daily from the stateroom TV. Client Services often had a long lineup. Hopefully, we will be able to try Royal Caribbean again. The price was right this time.

Relatively new ship that looks like a large efficiently run floating hotel. by wakiwan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

This was a good cruise if you don't like days at sea. The first day was the only one we did not visit a port and some ports you had to travel over an hour by bus, train, or taxi to get to the site. I would prefer at least 2 days at sea to take advantage of all the things offered on board and to relax. Anytime dining has advantages but it also does not let you get to know your waiters and meet other passengers. I did learn never to wear a tux again on European cruises. I also felt they could have used the sports court better by offering a variety of sports on their schedule rather than just soccer. I had just come off a 15 day cruise comprised of mostly older retired passengers but we still had over 20 people who played VB almost everyday. The specialty dining places are nice but really appear just a way for the company to make more money since the dining rooms serve good food. Getting on and off the ship was excellently run every time.

Great cruise - Everything was good by Orrhouse

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

From making arrangements, to arrival at the port through the daily excursions and then final departure, everything went smoothly and the quality of ship amenities and personnel were excellent. We could have used a little more sun shine; but the fun of the trip was not diminished.

Great trip by Watergal

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Noordam / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Everything wonderful! Had only one bad experience we thought we had booked a shore excursion with H.America but booked it with cheap cruise. Com. By mistake we were told by H. America you should not trust tour groups in Egypt. For four days we Agonized over the trip no one on Holland America could tell us if it was safe. We decided to look at the tour director and decided whether to go or not to Pyramids Missing a chance to see them. As it turned out the trip could not have been better the guide was excellent and very protective of us while we were in Egypt. Why put us through that worry. Also I would like to See free Internet or Wi-Fi on the boat.

Maiden Voyage Aboard Carnival Sunshine Needs Improvements by LAWorldTraveler

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Sunshine / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We have just returned from the maiden voyage of Carnival Sunshine 5/5-5/17, and the itinerary of the cruise is very good with lots of major ports/cities to see. Unfortunately, the cruise ship did not complete it's transformation from the former Carnival Destiny, and some guests experienced some issues with overflowing toilets, lack of shower heads, missing lights, and other minor problems. We had a lovely balcony room, but our bathroom had a bad urine odor for the duration of the cruise until the maintenance department finally fixed the issue around the the 2nd to last day of the 12 days Mediterranean cruise. The issue was fixed after many hours spent waiting in the long line at customer service for multiple times. There is also the unpleasant smell of paint and construction in some parts of the ship, such as on the 4th Floor near the unimpressive fine dining Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse that has so-so food for $35 extra charge per person; the service staff is excellent though. The WaterWorks deck was closed until the 2nd Day at Sea on 5/15 towards the end of the cruise, but the main pool on Lido Deck remained closed for the duration of the cruise. Carnival refunded $75 per person for the late opening and closure. Even though the cruise ship supposedly went through $155 million renovation, not all the rooms have been remodeled and some rooms may appear worn even balcony rooms. The decoration throughout the ship is not as beautiful as other ships such as the Carnival Splendor. One may wonder where the money all went for the remodeling, and we speculate that a lot of it went to the mind-blowing stage lights/screens for the two must-see shows debuted on the two "At-Sea" nights. Unfortunately, most of the remaining other performances on stage may make you wish you had not wasted time attending. The food on board was good, and we were pleased with the dining room food, afternoon tea, and kind staff. The 24-hour pizza provided on Lido Deck is also delicious, especially if you get a hot one fresh out of the oven. Overall, Carnival Sunshine still has some quirks and hiccups, and even though I am not quite certain that I would have picked this ship knowing what I know now, we had an enjoyable time seeing the wonderful cities around the Mediterranean.

Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Navigator of the Seas is a great ship and the itinerary was fantastic. The staff is very friendly and efficient and every inch of the ship is clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend either the Mediterranean or Caribbean itineraries to anyone who wants to cruise in style and comfort.

Fabulous by EastCoastCruise

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Lots of activities on board for every age group. You can go from one activity to the next one. Open buffet is not open for 24 hours. Some nights, The buffet is only open til 9:00 pm, sometimes you get hungry around 10. I would suggest for an open buffet til midnight. Just open one aisle of foods for the late eaters. There's no party for Friends of Dorothy for LGBT. Was really hoping for it but there's none. It would really be good if they have one. All guest relations should be well versed in English, some have a hard time expressing in English. Also, they need more staff at the guest relations on the last night of the cruise, It was a long line that night that I have to wait standing for almost an hour. This should not be an excuse from Royal Carribean. The shore excursion trip is a little bit expensive, It's better to sign up with the other tour group outside of royal carribean, they offer better and affordable rates.

Roll Tider's cruising with Seabourn Sojourn in the Mediterranean by LivingtheLife

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seabourn Sojourn / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Excellent cruising adventure. We would highly recommend Seabourn to everyone. Our accommadations, food, entertainment, onshore activity, and overall services were found to exceed our expectations. Our only recommendations would be to provide free internet to guest and to provide more diversification for diabetic diets.

Europe - Mediterranean 12 night Overnight Venice Cruise by AnneLesley

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Thoroughly enjoyed the cruise did most of the excursions, would not recommend excursion in Montenegro, not much to see. Our stateroom attendant was exceptional. Waiter service in main dining room could have been faster and food a lot hotter.

50th anniversary by 1monthontheequi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The first thing is, whoever set this up needs to proof read their spellinG. My wife is in a wheel chair. We have been on 6 other cruises. The Equinox has easily the best accommodations of any ship we have ever cruised on. Everything about the Equinox is ex, but the handicap setup is superior, and made our trip quite enjoyable.

There were so many interesting ports, which is why we chose this cruise. The cruise staff was excellent and the ship was very clean. The food was just so-so. Some of the shows were good, some so-so.
