The balcony state room that we received was directly below the kids jamboree. The excessive pounding and vibration was absolutely unbearable. We would get back from tours @ 5:30 or 6 PM and would go to room to try to review the tour and prepare for the next port before we would go to dinner. The pounding and vibration was so annoying that we could not return to the room until after 9:30 PM. We had mentioned this to the hotel director and the first solution was a set of ear plugs. Really!! This is the example of 'Champion of Excellence'?  After repeated concerns we were offered a move from a balcony state room to an interior room 4 levels down. What a joke!! On top of the experience the ala carte charges for things was outrageous. Any other cruise thought will be toward Viking Cruise Line .

Second MSC Cruise by jleung1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Splendida / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Overall the cruise is reasonably good.  The food is acceptable but could be better.  The quality of the food can be improved.  The housekeeping personnel did keep the rooms cleans, and worked efficiently.  The biggest complaint we have is that the pillows and blankets appeared to be used over and over by one cruise after another without actually being laundered.  There was a pretty bad and stale odor, especially the pillows.  They were so bad that they kept us awake frequently, and we eventually had to wrap the pillows with the towels to reduce the odor.  I don't know if the blankets and pillows are ever cleaned.

They were more than willing to lose customers for 35 Euro dispute by NKurosawa

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Diadema / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The ship is new and nice, but the customer service is the worst.  There are lots of hidden charges (food service fee, cabin service fee, etc.) and they would even charge you for a tap water at the bar.   The Internet plan on the ship is a scam.  I bought 250MB Internet Package, for which I was told I could “upgrade anytime” when signing up, but they refused to honor my upgrade because I used up all the data for the previous plan.  Ok, lesson learned, so, I purchased “per minute” plan after my initial 250MB package expired.  But when I reviewed my bill at the end, I noticed that they charged me for the minutes, as well as for another data package plan concurrently.  When I took it up to the Customer Service desk, the lady said that the Internet charge is handled by a system and is automatic, so a mistake is NOT possible.  Then she started to lecture me that Costa cannot be held responsible If a customer mistakenly pushes a wrong button, or forgets to log off.  I happen to be an IT executive so I know exactly how Internet works and how data transmission is not possible after the WiFi is turned off, but she was not willing to budge insisting that system does not lie.  Such an awful experience.  This was my second Costa cruise, and will be the last one.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Victoria / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

let me start with they told us to meet them in the wrong place ! ports times changed daily! food was not good in most of the places  food was very BLAND they gave you to eat! the duty free and gift shop over charge twice as much if not more.and not a lot of things to choose from. exchange rate was the same for the whole 11 days. tv was a few shows shown over and over everyday. internet was not cheap. ELEVATORS were not marked clear how to get to all DECKS! port times were very short. very limted things to do everday. trip was setup for MUCH OLDER GROUP OF PEOPLE! staff was good. and ship is kept very clean. have to pay for soda and have to wait a long time to get it. and if you don't carry you card with you 24/7 you will not get it or anything else.

Good first cruise by Cruiser73571666

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Musica / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We embarked on our first ever cruise with a group of 10 friends to see if it was for us. Overall I think we can say we enjoyed it but not totally hooked as many people seem to be. The five nights we feel was about right and enjoyed getting off looking at the different destinations which in my opinion is what appealed to me the most about cruising. Would I cruise again? Yes, I think we would but would prefer to sail from the UK in warmer times although this would no doubt mean a longer cruise.

Much to recommend but not all by tlkc

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We went because of the itinerary and it did not disappoint. Our balcony room fine. Storage space was adequate but not as plentiful as celebrity ships. The room was smaller than others. The settee was a one person chair, not a 2 person. The bathrooms on this particular ship are very dated and certainly showing wear. The sink and toilet need to be replaced.

The meals were a disappointment. The buffet was less than expected by quite a bit. Meals in the main dining room were adequate but subpar compared to other cruise lines. The emphasis of the line generally is toward speciality dining and additional spending, not to making all the customers happy. The free style idea is what we like but if you did not have reservations the waits were often long.

The "ultimate drinks package" is very odd. Drinks were never a problem although I was disappointed that there was no coolers. However, bottled water and cans of soda were not included. This makes no logical sense to me. I could get a drink up to $16 value but not a can of coke. Passengers were not permitted to buy water or drinks of any kind ashore. Staff took cases of water aboard but passengers could not. Water and soda were outlandishly priced. The whole thing was a money gouge and clearly ridiculous. In some instances this policy could be a health risk. The whole thing could well put us off doing another Norwegian cruise.

Overall the ship was clean and appeared to be well maintained. The public areas were pleasant in appearance although maybe a bit dated in decor. Some days it seemed there was not enough space so bars were used for presentations and there was often not enough space. The standards of cleanliness need to be improved. Never did I see anyone cleaning stair railings, a huge hazard for spreading germs. Tables in the buffet area and bars were not cleaned and sanitized well.

We did several shore shore excursions through the ship. Would be unlikely to do so again. They were generally overpriced. Most days however they were well organized and getting off the ship went smoothly. Knowing can be a mess I felt it was mostly well handled. Charging for some of the shuttles was in poor taste. Another money grab.

Generally we enjoyed the cruise but Tended to feel nickel and dimed and this was frustrating.

We did not get our onboard credit due from . Customer service tried to get in touch with you but got no response. We are still in Europe and have not been able to contact you. We don't have a phone that works and there appears to be no email address that can be responded to. I will be in touch when we return next week as this needs to be made ri

Relaxing by jb2405

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Vision of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

A very relaxing cruise with not the most exciting destinations but still worth while.  Venice and Athens were great but unfortunately bad weather prevented us from getting into Kotor.  Argostoli was an unexpected gem.  The service onboard was excellent and the entertainment pretty good.  The food was not quite as good as usual.

Ok by shhelter

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Mediterranea / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Cruise was ok....good value for price.

We had a balcony room. Very large and bathtub was a jet tub. It also has

d plenty of. Losers and a makeup area. I think the rooms were very nice.

Cabin service was just ok. At the beginning of the cruise we asked that an ice bucket full of ice be placed in our room every day. Only happened 3 days out of the 7. Room was kept clean. It was only my husband and myself so we didn't cause much mess.

Food was ok. Better than NCL. Nothing fabulous though....but plenty of healthy options.

We ate at both main dining and buffet.

We liked that we were never bombarded by pushy waitstaff trying to up-sell. What a pleasure!

All in all a good cruise....like I said. Excellent value.

Was far from impressed by lisarmc98

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

I thought the ship was very plain and there was not enough to do.   The ship had a heavy fuel smell on two occasions and no one would give us an answer as to why.  Very disappointed.

Excellent Experience by somanycruises

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

This was our 8th cruise and 1st on Celebrity. We found the food, entertainment and ship above expectations. The dining staff was especially memorable.  Alister, Jailani and Carmen were knowledgeable, entertaining and professional and made our dinners very enjoyable. The ship was clean and we loved the therapy pool. We chose this cruise because of the ports and were very pleased with them.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE FOR REPEAT CRUISERS ON OCEANIA by rwestbrook3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Marina / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

THE MARINA IS A BEAUTIFUL FANCY SHIP BUT THEY HAVE  MAJOR PROBLEMS.  THE CREW ALLOWED A LOCAL CITIZEN ON BOARD IN  CROATIA, WITH NO HEALTH SCREENING DONE, AND SHE WAS INFECTED WITH RHINO VIRUS.  SHE PASSED OUT WHILE ON BOARD PROMPTING A " MIKE 13 EMERGENCY CALL"   SHE  CONTAMINATED THE ENTIRE SHIP PASSENGERS AND CREW.  WE HAD SO MANY SICK PEOPLE THAT THE CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL IN ATLANTA WAS NOTIFIED AND THE SHIP WAS PUT IN QUARINTINE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE CRUISE.  SHIP SERVICES SHUT DOWN, EVERYONE GLOVED AND SHEETS OF PLASTIC COVERING ALL FOOD SERVICES, WHAT A GREAT LUXURY EXPERIENCE & NO EXPLANATION FROM THE CREW.

has Oceania sold out by t61354

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Marina / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The ship remains elegant and easy to navigate.  The food plentiful and varied, but all chicken dishes were overcooked and dry- avoid.  Our cruise had an outbreak of intestinal virus that the staff worked hard to contain and the wait staff was excellent.  Although air is included, transfers from the airport to ship are not!  They had always been in the past, contrary to what management told us onboard [this was our fifth oceania cruise].

could have been better by experienced

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

overall a nice cruise but, there is room for improvement with the service. Check in Barcelona was the pits and check out Cape Canaveral followed in the same foordsteps. What a mess!! waiting time unbearable.

Supervisor at the restaurants need to be trained to do a better job. Tables were loadet with dirty dishes and all supervisors pretend they don't see.

When I thought you could not make the food worse in quality and taste I was wrong. This ship has proofed it can be done. You should think twice to cruise with NCL.
