Overall my cruise was a good experience being that it was my first one. I just wish I was able to see the private island. That was the whole point of cruise.

Great time on the water by tadpolejoel2002

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Allure of the Seas

We had an experience on Nassau that people should be aware of. At froggys bar the waitress charged us 54 dollars for 2 drinks and when I gave her 60 she never brought my change back. Then next door at a t-shirt store the front gal changed out 2 shirts out of 5 that we bought for something else we didn't want. So you have to ask questions and make sure you get what you want. Other than that it was a fun port.

Overall this Royal Caribbean Allure was wonderful. Great energy. The Superbowl was a hit. Beautiful ship. Well kept and clean. Very spacious. With 6000 people aboard you never felt crowded.

Great Cruise for Older Adults by mfwood71

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Vision of the Seas

This was a nice, relaxing trip for us. However, we would like to have seen more age-appropriate activities on board. We were not pleased that the Centrum was the focal point of most onboard activities. It was way too loud, and certainly not relaxing to go through that part of the ship anytime an activity was in process. For this reason alone, we would not sail this ship again.

Honest Cruise Line Experience by Cruiser60883415

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Freedom

Once we boarded Carnival Cruise Line Freedom there was no direction as far as being expected to go to a "Muster Point" (This was our first cruise with Carnival). When we finally figured out why people were all over the place we attended our muster assuming further instructions. We only found out about rooms being ready a few hours later from random conversations. We followed people to the main deck, some went to have lunch and others went to the bar. We were not advised that we could use our boarding passes for drinks until we got to our rooms. Assuming our boarding passes would work we tried to get a bottle of champagne per our purchased bottle package. None of the barkeep or deck managers knew what we were talking about. It took 4hours to make contact with a gentleman who was willing to assist in finding out what package we were talking about to then getting a bottle as purchased.5 hours later he came back with drink coupons as purchased, and we still spent a good 40minutes trying to prove we purchased it and that it was a packed offered by carnival. Just before dinner we finally were given our purchased "coupons". We took a coupon to the bar to redeem only to be stared at as if we were crazy. Long story short we got a bottle and we just let that be that not to start our cruise off with any more aggravation. We were able to access our room on time, welcomed by the strong scent of cigarettes. The smell came from the dresser, where we found pajamas and underwear from another guest who was a smoker. It took a lot at this point not to completely lose our cool. Thanks to our travel agents and her kind gesture with the in-room dessert, wine, and bubbly. We opened the fridge to cool our wine to find, 3 cartons of expired milk (may/2024) 3 cans of soda, rotten cheese, and a bottle of Sangria. The rest of our trip we spent every single day, multiple times a day, arguing and debating and convincing employees at the bar and restaurants to redeem our purchased bottles of bubbly. Each experience took anywhere from standing in line to get service to service rendered an hour to multiple hours. It was a mess, the staff had no clue about our purchased package and would not serve us. After the second day, the staff would lie and say they didn't have any on hand and direct us to the casino bar. We would lose our seats constantly, people started getting annoyed when we would come to the bar and treat us poorly. We traveled with a large group of people (Over 300) These acquaintances started getting frustrated on our behalf to see the constant struggle. It even became a joke. If it wasn't for the cruise to catch up with members of our club we would have stayed in the Bahamas and flown home. The dining at night was awful, the food would be cold, overcooked, and underwhelming. We would have to educate the staff on the "New Cruise Package" we would have to wait and wait just to have a nice glass of champagne with a "nice" dinner. It was frustrating, exhausting, and infuriating. The entertainment was a nice distraction. The staff that helped us were super apologetic, The breakfast spread with good as far as continental options. We are only cruising with carnival again because of our yearly club cruise, we would not ever recommend carnival freedom to anyone. We truly have low expectations for the Carnival Horizon, We won't be cruising in 2025 with the expectation of anything grand. We look forward to seeing our club members and getting off at the different ports.

Nice short get away by cpmasn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Allure of the Seas

Number 37 is in the books!!!! I guess I'm more of a fan of 7 night or longer cruises as in my experience, the quality seems to be better. I am a real loyal to royal type so my review could be considered a bit biased but I always try to give a fair shake when it comes to reviews. If I am to be fair, I would say the MDR service was great but the food was average. This is not just a Royal issue either as I said before. This seems to be an industry issue where the food quality is sub-par in an effort to get the customer to pay for specialty dinning options. 20 years ago, it was an experience in the MDR but today it's cafeteria food served with a smile. My other issue is the gratuities have gotten out of hand as they only take care of your cabin once a day!!!!!! I believe you should tip when you get great service and not the other way around. We pay the gratuities through the onboard account and give extra when we see great service but the cruise lines need to watch all the nickel and diming as this will eventually turn people away (Gratuities on a 7 night cruise are $252) I tell people that the price of a cruise is the easy part lol!!!! It's all the rest that most people never consider that gets you. In my humble opinion, spend the money on a nice balcony and enjoy the peaceful time you get to smell the sea air and forget about all the issues at home. The Allure of the Seas does check off the boxes when you score her overall experience. The food could be better but if you do some specialty dining (great venues and still cheaper than paying for higher end cruises) it's a great little vacation and booking through makes it easy

Disney Wish-Magical Ship by stanger6998

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Wish

This was our first Disney Cruise. My family and friends love to visit the parks so we thought we try this. It didn’t disappoint. Although it is a little pricier than other cruise lines you get what you pay for. Every detail is accounted for on this ship. We were very pleased with our vacation.

Not bad for a first trip. by mephster13

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Liberty

Overall enjoyed it. Wish they would let you preview cabin view before signing on. My cabin window was facing several structures on the desk, making it look like warehouse zone. But I did not sit in cabin all day of course. Some stuff lacks understanding of basic english language unfortunately. Very friendly otherwise. Next time will order cabin on higher levels, despite ship sway there being worse. Whole experience was almost killed by inept Uber driver delivering us to wrong terminal - had to call family member who stuffed everyone in tiny car and brought 4 of us (plus driver) in slightly crumpled condition to right place.

Adventures in the Caribbean! by Cruiser92852176

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas

Stephanie Rush gave us great advice on what to do before boarding, ideas for food and excursions and helped us navigate our next trip! Which we booked with her within 4 days of coming home from our cruise! We did a 4 day. The placement of the staterooms was great and we had beautiful views and easy access to everything on the ship! Stephanie was always available and quick to respond. She talked through our many questions and is such a joy to work with!
