Colorful Coral Seas by carollynnhousto

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Sirena / Destination: Australasia

I would recommend this cruise to others if they didn't have 6 straight days of high winds, rain and rough seas and were able to go ashore.  I chose the wrong time of year.

Oceania's food iand service s always excellent

Not What I Expected by haybrocor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Australasia

We did enjoy our cruise to NZ and I would highly recommend this itinerary. I would advise to be careful of your choice of ship if you are travelling with children. This was our first Royal Carribean cruise and I was a little disappointed. The staff were wonderful and I could not fault the service, however the lack of entertainment relevant to anyone under the age of 60 was an issue for us. The ship, whilst very clean, is also looking quite tired. The food was good with many options available in the Windjammer. The dining room food was also good, if you were okay about the wait. We felt Radiance is a ship more fitting for adults. The glass elevators were lovely and the view out to the ocean from just about anywhere on the ship was lovely. There is a lot that was great with the cruise, but equally a few negatives for us as a family.

Despite some challenges, cruise was awesome by BoulderCruisers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Star / Destination: Australasia

The itinerary for this cruise was amazing. We really enjoyed all of the ports as well as the sea days. One of my favorite things about this cruise was the captain who gave us daily reports of the waterways, the ports, the weather and some of the history of the area we were in.

The downside to this cruise was that there were several changes in the itinerary and NCL was not good about keeping us informed of the changes. Despite this we would definately do this cruise again. It was well worth the money.

Unexpected could turn out good by 24miguel24

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Star / Destination: Australasia

Despite a few problems, we enjoyed the cruise very much. NCL has excellent entertainment in most nights; their band, dancers and singers are fantastic. The workers are some of the most friendly people - they cannot trained them so well, so those workers must enjoy their jobs. The food was quite good in this cruise and the different ethnic celebrations in the buffet each night was smart and delicious. Moderno is a fantastic paid option for variation as dinner choice. We were very lucky with the weather. In our stops, don't know why we have to be so far away from all the interesting places and most of the time be tendered to nearest far away harbor. That's upsetting and time consuming. The visas with Australia were not handled well. We suggest NCL requires some sort of visa proof way before one checks in. And when mistakes are made with visas, they shouldn't send ultimate letters to the stateroom. That ruins anyone's vacation. The cruise consultants in this trip were not friendly so no cruise reward buying for us. Finally, NCL has gone paranoiac with bringing water, juices or liquor into the ship. They should cool down and follow their motto: freestyle cruises. Overall, though, we were very satisfied and will cruise NCL again. Always giving them a chance to improve.

2nd time as good as the 1st!!! by Havingfunyet

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Golden Princess / Destination: Australasia

My 2nd time on this beautiful, happy ship and I would go on it again-love it and cannot fault it in any way shape or form highly reccommend it-My 1st experience was in a mini suite and this time in an inside cabin and it was as good except for the balcony and extra room but you are not in the cabin alot so unless it's for a special occasion I would do an inside cabin again. Loved the experince even though it was only 3 days from Melbourne to Sydney and my 1st one was Melbourne to Tassy and back for 6 days-go on this ship you will have no regrets and this is my 6th cruise and it is still my favourite one!!!

A relaxing Celebration of completing Year 12 on the Golden Princess by JazzyClarinet12

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Golden Princess / Destination: Australasia

I highly enjoyed my cruise on the Golden Princess to New Zealand. It was nice to be able to cruise from Adelaide. Staff and entertainment were amazing on-board with high quality musicians and service. The Golden Princess is looking a little tired as Princess doesn't appear willing to do anything other than short term maintenance before the ship's hand-over to P&O Australia in October 2020. Details of my experience can be found in the full review.

Great Destinations by paulmt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Diamond Princess / Destination: Australasia

Fabulous destinations that lived up to Princesses reputation, but the ship disappointed us on this occasion and marred our cruise. I know others will have a different experience but this was ours, on this occasion. We have written to Princess Cruises, no reply yet but am taking into account the holiday season.

Way too short!! by Helenemt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Golden Princess / Destination: Australasia

Loved the cruise but it was too short. Many elderly passengers who could be quite rude. Could never get a seat in the atrium as they were there morning to night!! The coffee in the cafe is terrible. They really need to hire Australian baristas as they always burn the beans and the coffee tastes awful. Stick to tea or the hot chocolate.

First ever cruise by AndrewCoral

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Golden Princess / Destination: Australasia

As first time cruisers our experience was memorable along with being pleasurable. Since being back home We have not stopped talking about the whole journey and the effort the team aboard to make this holiday a pleasure. Enjoyed every aspect so much so that we have placed a future booking that will be around July/August 2019. We are extremely pleased with our choice and would recommend this experience to anyone. Great job by all of the Golden Princess, we will return soon!

One of the best cruises by stanwilla

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Maasdam / Destination: Australasia

One of our best cruises. The Maasdam is excellent with very good food, activities and crew.  The smaller passenger size is a definite plus as it was easy to find seating in the restaurants and shows with an very friendly ambiance and crew interactions. It has essentially all the amenities and public areas pluses of a larger ship but is easier to reach and has a higher comfort level relative to crowing and noise due to the smaller to mid-size of the ship.

Fantastic cabin-very large ship-maybe too large for the dining options provided by linvi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Australasia

Loved our cabin, beautifully decorated and clean. I think that RC are fantastic at getting people on and off ships efficiently. Entertainment was great-main shows, Ice Skating and music trivia were highlights. I was unhappy with the lack of seating and cleanliness of the buffet restaurant. Lunch was particularly difficult as there wasn't many options. This ship has many expensive options and they are in for the hard sell-the US conversion does not work for us

While the ship itself was absolutely incredible, the same cannot be said about the staff, food, entertainment or onboard activities. It was very disappointing.

Disappointing for a romantic getaway! by dreaMi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Astor / Destination: Australasia

Purchased as a late Valentines Day present to each other we thought a 3 night cruise out of Adelaide would be nice... the woman who sold us the cruise at the Phil Hoffman Travel Expo actually worked for the CMV company and raved about the Astor... we explained it was a romantic getaway and she booked us in... And then when we boarded... we had two single beds that couldn't be converted... one of the beds was lilting so that you felt you were going to roll out of bed at night. The dining room experience was just that, an experience that I wouldn't want to repeat... I felt we were shuttled like cattle to out table and rushed through our meal... and the buffet style restaurant had inadequate seating for the number of guests and you had to be quick to get food or the restaurant would close. All in all I would not go on the Astor again... very disappointing!

Repeat of a cruise from 40 yrs ago by 2903happy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sun Princess / Destination: Australasia

This was a 40th anniversary cruise for me, as I did a similar cruise with my parents back in 1977. We loved the adventures of this cruise, and it took us to some very memorable tropical beaches, and many places of very significant history. This cruise has also refreshed my desire to return back to Vanuatu very soon, and get another fresh Mud Crab on the beach at Champagne bay.

Wonderful transpacific cruise by almtsbb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Queen Elizabeth / Destination: Australasia

I chose this cruise for the ports and the large number of sea days. Cunard made it so easy to just relax and enjoy the trip. No long lines or waits. More than enough staff to care for all the passengers. If you booked your excursion with the ship you got priority on tenders. Very organized in getting people on and off the ship. Would I do it again? Yes, in a minute it was agreat cruise.

Simply amazing cruise by CruiserMim

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Australasia

I took a friend who had never cruised and it was such a great experience for her. The MDR experience was exceptional. My cousin and I had cruised before and knew what it was all about but there were lots of awwwww moments. Especially loved our Dandenong tour and our time in Hobart was special. We had great cruising weather and our balcony cabin was brilliant except for the Pullman ladder. Overall we had a ball.
